Hey, just starting a thread for planes, seeing that we had one for helis and tanks.

I like to use 2 different loadouts:

    Land Vehicle Attacker:
    -Air Radar
    -Flares
    -Guided missile

    and Airspace Clearer:
    -Beam Scanning
    -Flares
    -Heat seekers

I like to use air radar with the guided missile because you loose a lot of sight when switching seats. Using the beam scanning with the heat seekers, i like to get in nice and close and take them by suprise so they don't have time to use flares.

    Critique, comments, personal strats?

I like to take my jet, figure out what jet you're in, and then slam into you.

    • Air Radar
    • ECM
    • Guided Missile
I've been using ECM alot lately. It's the only thing that can shake the laser lock of SOFLAM. You have to deploy ECM during the lock on initiation though. So it's not like flares where you pop them during the rapid beep phase, meaning that the missile has been launch. ECM also reloads alot faster and shakes both Heat Seaking and Laser Guided devices.

If all else fails and I get locked I immediately go into a straight flight, wait for the rapid beep, SLAM the throttle down and pull super hard left or right. This literally causes the missile to go right by you. It's a beautiful thing :D

I too have switched over to the ecm jammer, much better. Shake off those locks! Ive also been using rocket pods more than guided missile because of how much more effective it can be against a tank.

My issue with pods is that in Hardcore mode it's hard to see where your targets are until you're literally right on top of them. No 3D spotting makes it difficult to see what is where.

True, but if you have a good fix on them then perform a long distance run, you could dump 2 full pods on them and kill them. It only take like 1 full pod and like 3 more rockets to kill a tank, but it will always take at least 2 GM to do the same.

Very true. I'm going to have to get some practice in with the pods!
