Ocean's Eleven (and Twelve, and Thirteen, but the first one was the best). Definitely my Nr. 1.
The Matrix Trilogy was very good as well, although the third one was too 'cheesy' and too slow I think... First two where great.
For the anime fans, I recommend Paprika and Spirited Away (both from Ghibli). They're freaking awesome.

For the rest, I've seen all the James Bond movies (except those after Casino Royale (2006), they mess up the cult I think). Some of them were good (Dr. No, From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Living Daylights and of course GoldenEye), others weren't.

If you're looking for an easy movie to wacht when you had a drink, try the movies with Louis de Funès (the Le Gendarme series and Rabbi Jacob) or a spaghetti western with Terence Hill and Bud Spencer (AKA the right and left fist of the devil, with movies like I'm for the Hippopotamus and They call me Trinity).

Nobody asked for series, but to prevent another topic:
    - Thunderbirds
    - Star Trek (especially Enterprise and Voyager)
    - JAG
    - Stargate SG-1 (after watching the original movie, otherwise it will take you a couple of episodes to get the storyline)
    - The Big Bang Theory

Perhaps I should include QI, Argumental, MacGyver/The A-Team and Chuck, but the question was about favourites, not semi-favourites.

Favourites are hard for me, but I can definitely say that I have literally never tired of watching Zoolander, Pocahontas or Constantine. I don't know how many times I've watched those, but it's probably a shameful amount.

For anime: Cardcaptor Sakura and Ouran Host Club are my favs. Watched Cardcaptor three times, and Host Club twice, so far.
    For TV: BBC Sherlock.

I'd have to go home and actually look through my meager media collection to be sure, but those are the ones that immediately stand out.

    *gasp*
You are literally the first person I've seen in the wild who likes 12 Angry Men. We watched part of it in my high school media studies class however many years ago, and I've loved it ever since. Anyone I've showed it to also enjoyed it, but it never seems to make people's "favourites" list.

God yes. World's best sci-fi, right there. Everything else can suck a kitten. Unless its Atlantis. The only thing better than SG1 is Atlantis. (I went as Ronon for Halloween once. And Pocahontas twice. So by that measure, I guess I like Pocahontas more.)

Haha! Yep, my dad showed it to me when I was like 13 and for some reason i fell in love with it. It's an interesting movie all around due to there being pretty much one set, and highlights how much one person can influence a group with reason and gumption.

Those are all excellent picks. I'm going to toss in Groundhog Day, Memento, The Devil's Advocate, and Green Street Hooligans for movies. As for TV, I'm a big fan of Arrested Development, Farscape, and pretty much everything the BBC puts out.
