What kind of PVP are they going to have?

    Arena and PVP Zones.

EDIT: To clarify, the Arena PvP was enabled in Phase 4 of the Beta, but obviously only Legacy players were able (And encouraged, as well) to play in it as it had a minimum requirement of level 35.

It looks like the best classes for solo 1v1 PVP are gonna be Arcanist and Paladin, due to their naturally high sustain and good DPS Output (Arcanist moreso than Paladin)

I don't know if I read it correctly or how accurate the information is, but I've seen in few places people talking about how you can also learn certain abilities from other classes as well as something along the lines of leveling those abilities and being able to switch to lets say from a DPS to a Tank.

As for Mages being great at PVP, I mean what else is new? lol and its always a great skillcheck too. I did roll an Arcanist knowing that you cant go wrong with a mage class while shooting for the glass cannon build.

Yep, you can take abilities from other classes that you have leveled. For example: if you have leveled Conjurer to 12 you get Cure, Aero, Stone and Raise. If you switch to Thaumaturge which is basically Black Mage, and you're only level 1, you can pull Cure in to heal yourself, and as you level THM you can pull in more abilities. It's a pretty neat system, unfortunately some abilities you can't pull in. I noticed Arcanist's Summon (for Carby) couldn't be pulled into other classes.

Paladin will probably be slightly stronger due to a Pal's naturally high defensive stats. And honestly, I'd go SMN over Arcanist in PvP personally, stats wise arcanist is supposed to be slightly better though.

Same here. Black Mage is my favorite class.

Only up to level 35, though. After that it caps, and you cannot take any more abilities.

Well, to be frank, you can pull in five from other classes, when you have an advanced class.
Ten otherwise if you use just the base class as I understand it.

    I could be wrong though.
