Xenon, it's about 200 certs 'til about Level 5 Acq timers, which reduces it to about 10 minute wait if you crash. Although you could ask very nicely for someone to pull for you, it's still a long wait. =x

But probably by that time, you'd already figured out how to survive long enough so you wouldn't have to wait too long. (Somehow, without derping, if I crash, I only have to wait 2 minutes before I have to pull again.)

Unfortunately the only thing about flying, like everything else in the game, is to keep on doing it. I'll have to keep asking other people to give me tips and pull for me when my timers are on cooldown.

I just want to practice 1v1 hover dogfighting. My aim and dodging skills aren't on par with the top tier pilots so that's the only thing holding me back from owning everyone  (that's a pretty big "only" though) Usually I just try to jump people instead.

I've fought fried and delzain before and it goes like this
    :O
    *miss all my shots*
    *dead*

My main goal in the air is to master the Goomba Stomp but that may be something best done on my own in VR.

You can shoot esfs from above until they smoke and then ram them with the bottom of your esf and survive, if you're at full health. You just have to slow down enough before you hit, and hit them off center so you spin. I do it when I gank people and I can't finish them off before I close in on them, and I don't want to give them any chance to retaliate while I'm reloading and repositioning.

I have pretty good control over the Scythe. It's like I preach and also need to practice more; you can do all the fancy maneuvering you want, but if you don't make those maneuvers count for something you may as well be hovering in one spot if you're fighting against anyone experienced.

Some of the most eloquent (AND functional) flying I've ever seen is from a guy named Davelantor. I watched his videos all the time while I was first learning to fly and contribute much of what I know to his videos. He doesn't really do videos anymore. I really don't think he even plays that much anymore.

I need to download test server so I can practice with everyone too. It would be great fun!

I'm trying to fly like a combination of rguitar and Moushn. Hopefully watching their videos obsessively is helping
Matti4ce too but his style is less flashy and fun and more surgically precise and almost boring

Well one thing I've been focusing on specifically is trying to be comfortable flying upside down and at strange angles. If you're pursuing someone it helps a lot to be good at that kind of stuff. When you try to rotate and level out while shooting it will throw your shots off so it's best to just avoid it if you can. And you can track people better if you align the vertical axis of your aircraft with their movement so you don't have to yaw so much.

Also if you're attacking someone and they go into a turn to dodge your fire, stay in first person and just spam pitch up and keep shooting. I used to switch to third person, recenter and re-engage, but I learned this from watching rguitar and I'm ganking people a lot better now.

Yea there is no doubt some people's fly style is just straight and to the point. That's what I absolutely love about Davelantor's flying style. It was always so much fun to watch him fly anything at all. The guy is a great pilot but also very effective. He also didn't care about his K/D so you didn't see him going completely out of his way in instances just to avoid dying.

I need to check out some of Moushn's videos. I think I've seen a few and I've seen the name thrown around some but I don't think I've ever really sat down and watched his videos. You should definitely give "Davelantor" a look on YouTube.

Just watched a few moushn videos. Holy crap that guy is deadly efficient and aggressive with his movement.

There's no specific or official training. Just anytime you catch Delzain online holler at him.
