I've recently been pushing myself to improve my aim and my play style, and I've been pretty happy with the results. I cut my sensitivity in half which helped a lot, and I've been focusing a lot on crosshair placement, keeping it at head height. It's starting to become unconscious, I think I've finally kicked the "running around looking at the ground" habit I thought I'd never be rid of. (at least mostly)

Look at how consistently I keep my crosshair at head height and how I peek corners carefully. I also snap my crosshair right to player's heads or upper torsos as soon as I can. Playing CS:GO had a big part in this. (Ignore the horrible fail at the end. I still have a lot to work on in terms of game sense)

For contrast, here is a video from 5 months ago. I honestly don't really feel like I've improved that much since then. Actually sometimes it feels like I've gotten worse. It's just that I'm now much more aware of what I'm doing wrong, and I kind of view that time period through nostalgia/ego goggles. But the difference is clear from watching this. Look at the terrible crosshair placement in the beginning and how shaky my aim is in the first encounter. Then when I am behind all of those NC I shoot at their center mass, because aiming for heads was "too risky" and body shots were safer. I didn't even try to knife any of them.

Finally this is 16 months ago. My first Planetside 2 video. I don't even know what to say about this...
(at least I saw one Wrel approved corner slice in there)

I always feel like I'm stagnating or that I've hit the plateau of my natural skill and can't get any better. But I keep proving myself wrong and hope to keep doing so.

What settings are you running in CS:GO atm? I'm at 2400 dpi with 1.0 mouse sensitivity. Going to be working down to below that. PS2 I'm 2400 dpi with .10 sensitivity.

It's funny, I'm actually using totally different sensitivity for both. Planetside 2 is 900 dpi and 0.25 in game. CS:GO is 400 dpi and 4.5 in game. So it works out to around a 12cm 360 in PS2 and a 24-26cm 360 in CS:GO. The CS:GO sensitivity is pretty close to my PS2 ADS sensitivity when using a 2x sight, so there is some logic to it. I just can't play Planetside at that low sens because 180s are pretty hard.

I also use this map to practice (30 minutes or so)

I turned my sens down based on that, because I couldn't hit the targets quickly at the higher sens I play Planetside at and my hand would start to cramp up.

Just for another person to compare sensitivities with, I have a 2000 dpi and 1 sensitivity in GO. Planetside I'm using 2000 dpi with a 0.08 sensitivity. I've noticed a huge change in my gameplay since lowering my sensitivity in PS2 ( I played at a .24 for over a year)

Curious greg, why the low dpi+high sens on CSGO? Seems odd since you it the other way on PS2.

Could be the way the game reacts to mouse input. Some may work better with high dpi or vice versa. If I had to guess. I just know that I changed my mouse down to the minimum setting which is 1000 I think. It has max 2400 which I used to run at thinking high sensitivity = fast reactions. Boy was I wrong, my accuracy took a major boost in all games once I dropped dpi to bottom and lower sensitivities.

For reference I use this mouse. I only noticed now that the model is called eagle, which is my username :P

Most people use 400 and I have a button on my mouse to change it
I was actually playing at the wrong dpi yesterday without realizing

Great video, I have had the same resolution and I have seen a big improvement in my gameplay (I started with NC, improved my kd from .8-1.8 playing mostly infantry. I have also cut my sens and dpi by half and my accuracy/hsr has improved. But yeah, a big part of skill is not just twitch reactions, but also knowing where to go xD. I've died like that a lot too.

I should probably look to cut my sensitivity at some point (I plateaued, I think, a couple weeks ago when I last played; can't break that 6KDR wall). Fuck if I know what my DPI settings are but I play at 0.75 sens in PS2.

I changed from a .25 sensitivity to a .05 sensitivity, which is about a 49cm ads 360. I've noticed that my HSR has gone through the roof since I've done this (sitting around a 65%-75% session HSR) I would highly recommend that people make the switch from high to low sensitivity
