was thinking about playing this again. I just hate playing with people that have no idea what they are doing (pubs). Lets face it, pretty much every other mmo out there (imo) sucks ass at.

To my knowledge there hasn't been any big updates. So should only be few hundred MBs or less than a gig anyway.

i'm extremely wary of this, to be frank. it sounds awesome, all the old faces reuniting. the problem i had was never the fact nobody wanted to play, it was the lack of cohesiveness and consistency. say we have a weekend where we're all on, we have a good time, and that's grand. is there going to be a thing the next week? if so, what days, what times? are people going to show up? who's going to lead?

moreover, if everything goes well and the PS2 side of things becomes STABLE, what's going to legitimise it again? most of the leadership has decided it's no longer a game NNG should be headlining, and so in the unlikely event we [the people who still like this game] get even weekly ops going, what's going to be the position of the leadership? are we going to be recognised as a division again?

i realise people probably don't even know at this point, and that's reasonable. but i won't be changing my tags back until there's some assurances that the past won't repeat.

While I would like some of the people who left to come back, I'm not entirely sure that's going to happen. I think it's more likely that people who stuck around will stay. As far as consistency, nobody can predict the future.

The leadership that came to that decision is gone. They no longer matter. The only ones who matter are the ones still left. Will we be a division again? Who cares. NNG isn't built on the idea of divisions. It's built on the idea of like minded people enjoying video games. As far as ops go, I'm not sure we have enough people for that right at this moment.

Nobody is forcing you to do anything, but I can guarantee that the future of PS2 in NNG will be a lot different than it has been, for good or for ill.

All we are doing is getting a few people together to play a game we all enjoy. We have no need to set set ridged guidelines on how everything is going to work. Anyways, the direction NNG seems to be heading is a less strict, "everyone's the leader" type system. Most of the older rules (put in place in the last year) no longer seem to be in effect. If people want to play a games and organize and event once or twice a week, there shouldn't be anyone or any rules stopping them.

this is new information, and i'm pleased to see change being brought about. i don't actually care about the division thing, i just want the game to be recognised above say, Diablo 3. y'know, down deep in the forums. so that the players are actually seen as a good chunk of the community. as for ops, that's not something that's REQUIRED, but you know what i mean. it would cheer everybody up if we got back to the point were PS2 nights were on X day, and if people showed up, they wouldn't be alone.
i was more meaning that in ps2 specifically, it's better suited for groups of people, and somebody to pick the places we go. if ten people show up and nobody's leading, then we'd just be all over the map, socially lone wolfing. that's all i need, really. somebody to pick a base and generally herd.

Great discussion guys. Take the reigns and do what is best with the PS2 division for those that remain. Do we have control over the outfit or is Jaamaw holding it hostage?

We currently do not have control of the original outfit. Jaam was holding it hostage, and when I tried to talk to him, he denied everything and muted me.

I asked Higby to help, he removed the character that was leading it since it was a BR1, but the system thinks there are 10 unknown members still in it. SOE development at it's finest.... https://www.planetside2.com/players...chString=#!/outfits/?outfit=37509488620601512

We have started up with a new outfit tagged [NNGx]. Hopefully the old one will get wiped out at some point and we can get the tag back.

Keep pushing for the original outfit. It's a matter of principle at this point. Jaamaw holding it hostage is pretty lame. But I can't say I'm surprised.
