    Hey everyone,

Don't want to make a big deal out of this, so I'll try to keep it somewhat simple :)

It's time for me to finally move on from NNG, for real for real.

I started this thing up back in 2011 and it had some really high points and some low points (to be expected when humans are involved :) ). It's been amazing, to say the least and I've met some really fantastic people along the way. I think the community has sort of settled back into a boutique niche once again and I think that's the way it should be. A small group of buddies who want to get together to game with a no BS style and just get it done.

My presence around here has been nonexistent for the past 6 months and I think that in itself speaks volumes. At this point in my life, I'm exploring all kinds of different things. Travel, philosophy, art, music, recreational drugs /overjoyed the outdoors, and generally just spending less time tied to electronics. My love for gaming still exists in a pretty tremendous way, but I find it ending up on the bottom of my list lately primarily due to one major issue; time. I just don't have the amounts of it that I used to. ...And for that single reason alone I don't think it makes sense for me to be the "super admin" account in NNG for any longer. Instead, I'd like to just pop in every once in a while and say hey.

To make it real and force the hand of the remaining community to take the reigns I plan to hand over the following:
    • The website, hosting, FTP. $60/m0nth
    • Teamspeak / Gameservers - $60/6months
    • The GhostSheets credentials to the forums - Priceless
The handing off of these things will allow people with more time, heart and creativity to keep NNG going. It will also sever me from a position of "power" which will prevent conflicts of interest in the future. So I think you guys should spend some time to decide on how this "thing" gets transitioned to the next person, or group of people. The alternative is that we allow some set amount of time to pass and the NNG assets listed above, simply cease to exist and burn out.

I don't want to see that happen but it's a thought to entertain. If any of you would like to consider stepping up or would like to nominate someone to take over these things in a way that benefits NNG, then do it all in this thread to keep it out in the open. Also to avoid confusion. I will have no part in the selection process so it is literally up to you guys to decide how to move the thing forward.

Sorry if this seems harsh and or unexpected but if I don't do something harsh, I'll let more time pass, and NNG will be somewhat limited under my absence. Not that it's limited now, because you guys are doing stuff, but the potential for it to be better and to be truly owned by you all, and not just me will be strengthened.

I will miss NNG very much. I've probably got thousands of gaming hours in with you guys as well as hundreds of hours working on these forums, graphics, website and other stuff. The gut shattering laughs I experienced with many of you on TeamSpeak and in all the games we played over the past 4 years will be memories I retain in not just my digital persona, but in my real life.

TLDR; I've hit my quota and it's time for me to go! /coffee

    Just gonna write something short.
You've done an awesome job Ghosts, and a huge thanks for your time!
It has been great gaming with you whenever we did cross paths and I'm sure we will in the future too.
Good luck in your endeavours and spending your time in the way that makes you the most happy!

Ditto to what everyone else said.

It's been fun playing with you (even if it was very brief) and you did a tremendous job with everything else.

    You will be missed! o7

    Holy shit, this IS big.

I wish I could afford to host the things. Maybe Mortos? Haha.

But anyways, thank you ghost. You've helped me out many times. I hope you have a wonderful time in retirement.

Maybe we can instead, put it on a rotating pay basis. For example:
First month - Mortos pays for
    Second month- Ajax
    Third month- Hospi
    4thmonth- Highlander
    Ect. Ect....
Probably something we should have done a while ago instead of beating up Ghosts wallet all this time.

I for one am willing to contribute. To help keep our TS going.

Edit: I was so concerned about keeping TS up for all I overlooked the real reason for this post.
Ghost, you have always been fair and honest with me. You covered costs for all of us without asking for a penny in return. You never flexed your authority unless you were forced to. Youre a hell of a guy. Please dont be a stranger. Pop back in from time to time and see how your legacy has grown. So its not goid bye, its see ya later !

If we have several people that want contribute we may want to look into something like Patreon. Everyone that wants too puts in so much money a month, the cash goes to someone we trust with it to handle paying for shit.

something like this should of been done quite a while back

I think we might be able to do better on costs, and I'm willing to pitch in. I'm at work now, but let me look around guys.

Sorry to see you go Ghost, but I totally understand. DONT BE A STRANGER!

Hey guys, I can get server hosting for both the website and teamspeak for literally a fraction of what is being paid now. (About $6/mo) I would be willing to front the costs, with donations accepted, and administer the server. I would still need help maintaining the website proper.

Ghost: what webserver/database does the website require? Apache, PHP, MySQL?
