I need some advice on gitting gud. I used this guide to get me started and it has helped me improve but I've hit a plateau.

    Clips of me being bad

    My stats

    Sensitivities:

    Hipfire: 22cm/360

    ADS: 44cm/360

HSR: Usually around 35%. Happy with this for now but would like to break 40%

Acc: Stuck at 25% and I want to push this past 30%

    • Tracking is pretty bad and needs work.
    • Still barreling over walls and around corners and landing myself in bad situations.
    • If I round a corner into multiple enemies need to remember to retreat a little and peek instead of going into panic mode and shooting at everything.
    • Stop crutching on HA. Possibly switch to LA since I like flanking so much.

Alright...I play BF4 exclusively but there is one commonality between ALL shooting games: twitch shooting. Being able to quickly acquire and blow away opponents. By no means am I an uber player but I have gotten much better this past year largely because of one website:

    http://www.aimbooster.com/

Don't let the simplicity of the site fool you. Just play around on it for 15 minutes at a time and within a week you'll notice your quick response skills improving. THere are all kinds of settings (including sniper training...if you're into that kind of thing) which I would suggest messing around with.

Okay, time to do some writeup.

    WHEE

So YOU WANNA GET BETTER HUH.

    Let's talk about visuals.

Your minimap is covering the bottom left half of the screen. Might want to consider making it the smaller version and localizing it a bit. You're asking for infantry play after all.

As it is, that is a blindspot. Your weapon is also a blindspot but I mean what are you going to do about that short of removing the model entirely.

The other nuance in PS2 is fire control. It's not exactly intuitive because of the first shot mutiplier, but if you control your fire-rate a little bit, it will reset the bloom giving you more accurate shots in extended firefights.

Tracking is more difficult in fights but that you can only do with practice. You need to wrap your head around the fact that most people move predictably.

Incidentally, are you using your stats for the pulsar as a baseline? It's pretty good.

But at the same time you need to make sure that you are moving all the time as well.

I think the most major thing that will help you is perception. Remember that if on the mini-map that there is no one around you who is friendly, you're the guy who's going to run face first into the enemy. Or multiple of them.

Now granted, this also can net you a lot of kills. And deaths. But stupid amount of farming can occur if you know where the enemy is. And where they're going.

This goes down to base design! Or more specifically the lack of base design and where the enemy puts their sunderers about 90% of the time.

And if you royally piss off some people, they will start taking detours to kill you specifically.

So, what do I mean by perception?

I mean paying attention to movement in the distance, movement in the immediate, sound and minimap markers, as well as understanding where the enemy sunderers are.

It's sorta about tactics, about what you may consider an imaginary line. An obvious example would be the pads at biofarms.
You cross the line, you're in enemy territory. And pushing them back makes the area behind you 'safer'.

Knowing about that, and avenues of approach, you can then try to plan your own approaches with what minimal cover you get, and get yourself opportune firing windows.

To reiterate: Learn base design, flow of battles from base design, avenues of attack, which will allow you to anticipate enemy players ahead of time which leads to dank frags and hackusations of esp.
Also listen for enemy cloakers they hate that

The enlarged minimap is something I've been trying out recently. I haven't felt that it has directly led to any deaths, but I'll give the normal minimap another shot.

Yes, the pulsar lsw is a fresh weapon that isn't weighed down by old stats.

Something that really needs work. Right now I only get a vague idea of where the enemy is then start moving. Need to slow down, think about likely sunderer placement and possible enemy pathing then move out.

Have mercy kuat. It helps to not over think it and play. Let it be natural, if you try too hard you will get too tense.

Pretty much everything Kuat said with the exception that I disagree with the map function. I routinely run the mini map full size and either zoomed in fully for infantry or out max for air and find it really helps pinpoint enemies and their directions of movement. I've never personally been in an encounter where the obstruction of that part of the screen is an issue in thousands of hours of play. If you're in a situation where it's obstructing the view of an enemy you're already in a position you shouldn't be in. Just my opinion though.
