Sorry guys I have not been playing as much. Been so busy at work, felt like playing solo past week or so. Lag got worse, big turn off . I should be building my own new rig AMD soon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055QYKQO/ref=gno_cart_title_2 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005V71EKW/ref=gno_cart_title_3 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Cooler Master - HAF XM ATX/Micro ATX Mid-Tower Case/5771556.p?id=1218692934705&skuId=5771556&st=coolermaster haf&cp=1&lp=1#tab=specifications So far that's what I have. Please do not tell me about The I-7, etc series of processors. I have one and I am not impressed . If anyone knows any cheaper Platforms feel free to post. Haven't decided on a G card yet it's going to BE AMD (Radeon) as well though.Other stuff like PSU Ill be picking out as well
Get an 15-3570k and Gigabyte Intel Z77 LGA 1155 Dual UEFI BIOS ATX Motherboard GA-Z77-DS3H. Thats what I use and I can run everything without an issue If you want the full specs of my new rig, let me know and I'll just send you the amazon links
I used to be an AMD guy for the pricing, but once I got an i7 I was blown away. Don't worry Death, we'll be here
no worries, I haven't been on much latley either. I;m applying for a new job so that's been taking up most of my time.
The thing is I've always gamed with AMD. I have two I-7 rigs that are decent and they can't play PS2 for crap. One of them is a 2g laptop. Sorry if I am a bit sour with the i7 series. and thanks . I have ferraris and they're running like GEo metros .
I plan on going to 7 to 8 GHz. I know the CPu i picked and ram I picked can handle it with LC.However, I am not sure the mobo, will may have to go with Asus republic. My rig should be around 800. Call it extreme I want zero problems running anything and if I was to play 2 games at once or Eyefinity in 3d I will ;P.
lol @ 7 to 8 Ghz Are you high? The Ivy Bridge chip can't handle an OC as well as the Sandy. But, that being said, the Ivy is slightly stronger clock-for-clock. Especially for rendering with Virtu. Look to get about 5Ghz MAX under water on Ivy.
Also, the i7 in your laptop should not be compared to, say, a 2600K desktop model. It's like comparing a diamond to a potato. The i7 in that laptop is probably only getting about half the power, maybe less, of the desktop model. My i7 was alright out of the box. I tested and found a nice OC at 4.4Ghz and 1.356v and I have to say I am quite impressed with it now. Best chip I've ever had the joy of working with. It just screams through everything I've put it through and asks for more.
As long as the Quartz Crystal and buses( should have full control of the CPU multiplier) can handle it It's very possible, the main thing is heating, I may need to run some coolant LC radiator or put it under water( Have a fish tank that will fit it). I can OC it a few ways than just going to the CPU bus as well. I have engineering skills I am sure I will be fine. Thats why my purchases are going to be a expensive ass mobo and processor. 7 may be a little high but it's possible. No matter what happens I am gonna milk that sucker for everything it's got.
