DICE's Weapon Designer, Alan "Demize99" Kertz is looking for feedback on the following tweaks. It has not yet been confirmed if these changes will be implemented in the next patch.

    What do you guys think?

    Foregrip
The Foregrip is for players who who are in close combat and highly mobile fighting situations. It reduces the horizontal recoil forces that make maintaining a consistant aim on target difficult, however it makes aimed shots more difficult.
    • +34% reduction in horizontal recoil (adjust based on gun)
    • -20% penalty to base accuracy when aimed
    Bipod
The Bipod is for Players who wish to setup a position and hold it against the enemy, or make long range shots effectively. When deployed recoil and dispersion are substantially reduced and scope sway is eliminated (except under suppression).
    • +Reduction in horizontal and vertical recoil (% depends on gun type)
    • +Reduction in dispersion (% depends on gun type/ammo type)
    • -Has to be setup to get the benefit
    Suppressor
The Suppressor is for players who are mostly focused on Stealth. It uses low velocity rounds, which means better stealth at the cost of reduced range. The Suppressor adds bulk to a weapon due to its size, making firing from the hip more difficult, though a high quality Suppressor provides a small aimed accuracy bonus and reduces the muzzle rise when firing.
    • +Does not appear on minimap when firing.
    • +Reduces sound and visual muzzle signature
    • -Reduced range for both min and max, damage stays the same.
    • -50% penalty to base accuracy from the hip
    • +25% bonus to base accuracy when aimed
    • +10% reduced vertical recoil
    Heavy Barrel
The Heavy Barrel is for players who are focused on Accurate Aimed fire. It uses high velocity rounds, which means the bullet drop is reduced and the max range of the weapon is increased at the cost of an increase in auto fire dispersion. The Heavy Barrel adds bulk to a weapon due to its weight, making firing from the hip more difficult, though it gives a substantial increase in aimed accuracy bonus.
    • +Increased maximum range, damage stays the same.
    • -25% increased dispersion per shot
    • +50% bonus to base accuracy when aimed
    • -25% penalty to base accuracy from the hip
    Flash Suppressor
The Flash Suppressor is for players who want some additional Stealth, without the range and accuracy penalties of a Suppressor. It works as a recoil compensator, reducing recoil, though it adds a slight bit of bulk making firing from the hip more difficult.
    • +Reduces visual muzzle signature
    • +20% reduced vertical recoil
    • -20% penalty to base accuracy from the hip
    Target Pointer
The Target Pointer is for players who want to run and gun from the hip. The laser is visible, making the user more visibile to other combatants and thus less Stealthy.
    • -Visible Laser
    • +Laser can dazzle opponents
    • +33% increase in base accuracy from the hip

    Here's my thoughts....

Foregrip - Why reduce the climb if it's just going to be less accurate?
    Bipod - whatever, don't care
Suppressor - Suppressors generally don't affect accuracy and those are some big accuracy changes
Heavy Barrel - Good changes. I never felt like this barrel was useful for anything
Flash Suppressor - Again, why the accuracy reduction?
Target Pointer - Good changes. Never understood why you could see the laser line and it should increase hip accuracy for sure.

This makes me feel like I could work for dice.

    +Laser pointer will look prettier.

This is flipping ridiculous. I want Alpha/Beta weapons back. They have made it so "video gamy" now with all the balance crap. Gunplay should be just that, gunPLAY. Let the player decide how well it is wielded, and keep the attributes of the weapons and attachments authentic. Otherwise, what is the point of having real life weapons and attachments? If your going to change there real life characteristics, then you might as well make the game some weird futuristic shooter where guns do less damage than current day guns

Or they should make a LEGO Battlefield 3. That'd be fun too.

I think it's crankfucked that a Suppressor reduces range as much as it does. Suppressed Sniper Rifles have less range then a stock AR. gtfo.

For Franko, this is fine if it works. It allows you to adjust a weapon to a style you play rather then dealing with it as it comes. If I could slap on a Foregrip and Heavy Barrel and place fewer shots that ACTUALLY killed I'd love it. But when 7.62's take 4-6 rounds to kill it's pointless. They need more base damage something like 50HP for a rifle caliber but adjust the hit box. People have taken 7.62's in real life and adrenalined on. OFC, where it hits ya matter. They don't need to consider where major arteries are or vitals. But fuck when you crank a motherfucker with 7.62 in the face or upper abdomen he should atl east hit the floor crawling. Now a 9mm in the body or limbs, sure he can run off, but like hell he'll soldier on with another 9mm in him.

    Quoted for Mother Fucking Truth.

If they are so concerned with balancing every aspect of gun-play, then why even bother having different weapons with different scopes, barrels, grips, etc.? Just make one fucking gun and get rid of all the rest. Tired of them overbalancing the god damn game. Everyone has to feel equal. No gun can be better than another. Christ, we're playing a game where an F18 can get shot down by a shotgun with Frag rounds. Nothing is intimidating, nothing is menacing. It's a fucking F18!!!!! If you saw one flying at you in real life with it's mini-gun blazing you would take a diarrhea in your pants. Everything is all the same shit with different skins. It's like we're playing a game of chess, except the only pieces we have are pawns. They may be different colors or different shapes and sizes, but they're all pawns.

If DICE doesn't release mod tools, so the community can build a proper Battlefield, I don't see the life expectancy of this game lasting for more than a year. /boo

I just play the game. If we had our way every girl would have black hair green eyes and tell us what they really think all the time...wait thats just me. So what battlefield is a slutty blonde chick thats all push up bra with NO ASS AT ALL, but I still sleep next to that bitch every night.

Sidenote: *inb4 EVE talk AGAIN* Balance isn't just about everything being the same, but for things to compete at what they do and/or a level of realism. Now heres the EVE shit, Ships in EVE get balanced all the fucking time. Is every ship equal? No, they try to keep all ships flyable and competitive to other ships in their neighbourhood. Sure an Enyo is WAY TO FUCKING SLOW to keep up and kill most Assault Frigates, but people still kill with it. Why? Because it's all about DPS not speed, thats a Wolf's job. Now use this with Assault Rifles, some need to do damage and being inaccurate - G3, others need to be accurate and shoot rice - G36C.

Now take the Pre-Cruciable Super Carriers from EVE, they could p.well take out any ship any size (Excluding themselves and Titans) with little effort. Should they? No, because they aren't intended to fight ships 1/100 their size.
Now flip this and we got a fucking shotgun shooting frags. Those fuckers are like Semi Trucks packed with TNT. Only in this case, the best solution - Remove Frag Rounds.

I guess the moral of the story is balance things to their competition not the game. Example: The F-35 JUST CANNOT compete with the 18 and SU. And the VTOL isn't the problem, it's the agility. Now look at M40 Vs M98. M40 might as well do the same damage, so you are crazy not to choose it's round capacity. Although balancing sniper rifles hasn't been the same since Socom II, where they balanced power with accuracy and not actual stats but with scope wobble. In Socom II an M89 was a 1 hit body kill, but the scope wobbled like no other. Where an M40 was easy steady but REQUIRED that head shot. Nobody used it for that reason, I for one used the hell out of it and in my later days wouldn't even consider the M89 snipers talented by any stretch. This highlights my point on the other post where sometimes weapon differences suite different styles - I chose accuracy beacuse I could handle the need for making pixel to pixel shots.
