    lol! I must try this.

A big seller for me is the size of the maps. When you see a jet coming in it's like HOLY SHIT A JET. In BF3 it's like, ok enough with the jets already.

See, I want to like this, but as you said, first and foremost, it's a sim. I might buy it so that I can feel out the technical aspects of being in the military, but I don't think I'm going to be so invested into it, maybe a once in a while type of thing. To me, it looks boring, but interesting at the same time. Only time will tell, I guess :)

LOL that last video looks like one of the Alpha tests glitching. LOL

Yes, I will try to find any good/descent gaming community that I can find time to play with. My problem these days with ShackTac is that they are very strict on their play time. It's every Saturday at 5PM and after 4 years of missing Saturdays with my wife and family I had to give it a rest. "Real Life". So, if the time is right for games, AND YOU WILL NEED TIME FOR THIS GAME, then I will be in with you. FerShur.

You may also like to check out Dslyexi's threads and TTP2 link (This is the tactics of A2, the new one has not come out yet).
I just want to say that this game is not for the Run-N-Gun, Spray-N-Pray gamer. The more I introduce to you the deeper down the rabbit hole you will go... so be wary of how much you can commit to /smiles

While you're in Dslyexi.com check out the TrackerIR tab. If you're not familiar with Infrared head tracking devises, this will blow your mind. I have the TrackerIR5 and have been using IR since early 08' and I swear by it. Read up and enjoy. It makes gaming simulators pop. If you've ever wanted to peak around corners or lean sideways or turn your head while still walking forward, this is your gaming device of choice.

    Enjoy.

I got the Alpha on a whim, and it really is just Arma 2 with a facelift. The ui/animation changes are minimal, and it still "feels" like shit. I get that its a true sim and all that, but real war just isn't fun. Lots of walking, extremely long engagement distances, and fuzzy objectives without proper communications and leadership. I think you guys will be back for BF4 if not sooner.

I totally get where you're coming from Orestes. The game is a bit buggie at the moment but lets not forget that B.I. did something unprecedented for this release. This is the Alpha release. And, we as gamers get to see a progression (hopefully) as the final game is released. There are many bugs and those will get worked out as new players are updating the Devs.

Before A2 OA was released, I and many other lucky individuals were granted access to test all the game had to offer. There were the same problems then as there are now and they were worked out.

I'm very please with the release for what it is at the moment. The colors are a bit too loud at first but that can be manipulated in the setting. I like it now. Access to nearly all the buildings is going to bring a long awaited Close Quarters Battles when clearing villages.

I do understand the frustration of the large maps but if played correctly, as you stated, with the proper command units the experience is undeniably remarkable and overshadows any Mil-Sim out there.
Another positive is the fact that anyone who puts in a little effort and learns how to manage one of the many mission making script programs, can create some hellacious missions, my favorite are the Opfor vs Blufor missions. Mainly because they are mission that involve real player against each other. Though the AI are the best I've ever seen, I just prefer playing against real people.

Though I seem nearly orgasmic about this, I will most likely be right back into BF'whatever comes next...... I like the quick satisfaction of a run-n-gun game too.

I've been playing it for a couple of days now and I'm really enjoying it. I haven't delved into the MP yet but will give it a whirl in a bit. Fun game so far.
