Just curious, why render quality at 1.73? Why not 1.75

Just seems like a random integer

When it comes to Render Quality, setting anything above 1.00 will trigger supersampling, which is a type of anti-aliasing.
    • 1.41 = 2xSS (1.41 is the square root of 2)
    • 1.73 = 3xSS (1.73 is the square root of 3)
    • 2.00 = 4xSS
A word of caution: This puts A LOT of load on your GPU.
Also, 1.73 is not an integer

Makes perfect sense. I should have assumed.

I should have more than enough processing power for this, I'm gonna give it a try.

    this.

Can't tell you how many times I have had to explain this to people as to why it's 1.73. hahaha

Basically I have determened, through my hours of figuring, that if you have a VERY good GPU you want to turn on supersampling. Play around with each level of it to see which setting makes you GPU bound more often. For me x2 isn't enough x3 is much better but x4 is way too FPS impacting. Which you don't want. So you just have to basically use trial and error and find the setting that is right for you.

Yeah, I was giving it a go earlier today. I have a gtx 680 4gb so I have more than enough memory.

1.73 seemed to be the magic number that allowed me to cycle between CPU and GPU consistently. Thanks for the help guys.
