Can you be more specific? Car physics? Ragdoll physics? Tree sway physics? Which?

I mean honestly, even if this game had the physics of a Disney game designed for 3 year old kids I wouldn't let it prevent me from buying it. The story, the immersion, character building, environments, modeling, lighting, day night cycle, weapons, interactivity and the suite of everything else is what makes GTA the best games you can buy. Not really the physics.

You both are probably right. I'm just used to play games with improving physics with each sequal and by the looks of it those of GTA are still the same as in San Andreas.
I haven't seen any ragdolls yet, but since those suck in most games I'm not counting them either.

The traffic behaviour doesn't seem to make sense, the collision affects don't either. In most games, you know what's necessary to lose your cartop or a wing. In GTA V I've no idea since it doesn't seem consistent.
When you hijack a car, the player raises his fist to smash out the driver (perfectly normal so far, we've seen it before). However, the driver seems to duck out of his car, walk out of it almost straight and then gets facepalmed by the concrete for who knows what reason. The other hijack scenarios aren't much good either. Also, when you drive the car, it moves like anything BUT a car. I don't know how inertia works in the USA, but over here you shouldn't even think of trying to halt in ways I see in GTA V (when walking, when flying but especially while driving). Falling off a building? Far from realistic. Why even bother to add special effect deaths if you don't intend to do it right?
Also, stepping out of a still moving car should make you fall down. Not make your shoes look like skis.

Have I even started about the crosshair? It's one of the worst I've seen in the last decennium of shooters.

Also, I've seen the IGN cheat video now and they restricted the usage of cheats to location? I'm certain people will try to crush that bug (don't care if the devs call it a feature, they aint freakin Sony) for cheats are there to do whatever the hell YOU want, not to do what the game allows. Cheats should lift the restrictions, not impose them. I very well know why they did it (prevents game hanging and unexpected crashes), but if we want to drop a tank on a boat on a plane and the game has built-in cheats, let us do it... Well, trainers will solve that I guess.

I must say, I'm not purely critical about this game. I'm very curious how the online version will do and whether it has the potential of becoming a success or not. The idea itself has, but we all know the differences between theory and application. Also, will PS/XBOX/PC share the same realms or will they split PC and console gamers?

Do you mean the hood? If so, 15 mph can do it.

You can change the crosshairs from simple (dot) to the complex version in the settings. I never bothered to try because I use the dot just fine.

    And after all.... FUCKING BLIMPS!

So I was about 70% complete with the game when I decided.... TO START OVER!! :O

I've been having so much fun that I didn't want it to end. Learning what I learned the first run through I thought I'd give it an entirely different approach this time.

I also will attempt to earn as much money as I can before I complete the assassination missions and make big bucks in the market. $150M golf course, I WANT YOU!

Lastly, check this out. So awesome :)

The physics are actually quite impressive. You can actually jump in this game and then hit O (on PS3) and ragdoll your guy mid jump. I've done it over railings, cars, off roof tops, it's pretty funny. I think the character rag doll physics are fine!

The traffic behavior is a bit smarter this time. It's day / night cycle sensitive. More during the days, less at night. They respond to all traffic signals, pedestrians, whether, gunshots, bumps, swipes, and will even slow down when they see state troopers parked on the side of the highway with radars. I do agree that the car driving model blows dick. It's like the asphalt is made out of super glue. Hardly any sliding or losing grip. When you use the Slidey Cars cheat, it changes everything. I actually think that the way the cars handle when using Slidey Cars cheat is how they should have shipped the game. Stepping out of a moving car however, is quite accurate. Depending on your speed, your going to get either a quick tumble or severly fucked up / killed. You don't just slide in the standing, upright position. Full ragdoll physics.

    It's configurable I believe.

Cheats are disabled during missions. I agree with that though. The game is designed to be challenging, so cheating through story elements or action sequences just seems like a waste of time. When the PC version comes out, the modders will be all over it. The mods along will extend the life of this game well into 2016 or beyond. It's going to be incredible.

All platforms will be independent from one another. Many devs have tried to bridge the gap and failed miserably. I'm excited for online. Launches next month. Hell just the online stock market being effected by in game player decisions, actions and trading has my interest alone!

You've successfully changed my mind, I'll probably try the PC version when it comes out (and as soon as they know a price around here, it's still unknown for some reason).

I got myself a copy for $30 thanks to trading in an old nasty ass controller... and 4 games that I'll never play again! Thank god for Gamestop. Geneau, I recommend doing the same at your local counterpart, because to be honest, as much as I was looking forward to it, I didn't want a repeat of GTA4, which it isn't, it's MUCH better already and I've only played for about 2 hours so far. The fact that there are multiple characters alone are a great selling point. The vehicle controls blow, but it's GTA, get over it ;) I'm going to get the PC version as well, but if you have a PS3 or 360, I recommend trading in a bunch of shit you'll never touch again and just play it. Also, the PC version hasn't even been confirmed... well, it was, but it was redacted because R* said they have a LOOOOOOOONG way to go on that version... so.... get it and have fun while you can ;)

Nice! If a bunch of NNGers get it on PC we can form a gang in the online world! :D

Wow. 2 hours. You are in for a hell of a ride son!

Rockstar had a position open for a console to PC port specialist which lead most people to believe they would port it. I think that is what they've done with all the GTA's. Time will tell I guess.
