Thank you Mr CLancy for Rainbow Six, the book and the game. Thank you for Ravenshield and Ghost Recon, Ding Chavez, Heider and the rest. THank you for putting your stamp on FPS with Raven SHield and making sure that ballistics and trajectory do matter. A master of the Action novel, the SUm of All Fears...your passing. Gods Speed and I was honored to have met you with my father in 1986.

Been trying to start reading the sum of all fears. I'll have to continue reading now. Shame that he passed, so many things tied to him. He left a pretty good legacy.

I loved Mr. Clancy's books. I have read all the classics, Hunt for Red October...read the book, it is different in many ways from the movie. Red Storm Rising is just unreal, as a child of the Cold War I related to it on many levels and it was very insightful on the way events could have unfolded in the 1980's. Cardinal in the Kremlin was great. Clear and Present Danger was a good look at the "War on Drugs" policy formed in the late 80s. Sum of Fears was way ahead of its time and is a frightening depiction of our governments worst fears .His books are a MUST READ for anyone that enjoys Military and Political intrigue.

Few people know he was involved in some Naval Warfare games like Harpoon and a few others as a technical advisor and in scenario generation.

Farewell Tom, you will be sorely missed indeed,

    H.A.W.X was his, right?
Most epic flight game I've ever played.

I'm almost ashamed I've never read the books. I liked the quotes I found every so often, but for some reason I never started reading them.
Well, now is as good a time as any I guess.
