Alright so I need some help in upgrading my processor for my comp. I just want a processor so I will give you some of my specs. My mobo is a P67A-C43 B3 MSI The current processor I have is a i7 2600k Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 3000 BX80623I72600K. I do not want to change out my motherboard and would like to stay in the LGA 1155 family and in the intel family to make upgrading as easy as possible. Games I play are BF4, TW Rome, Eve Online, couple of sports games. I would ideally like this processor to last two years for games and play some games at the highest level of quality and speed. A couple of processors I have been looking at are http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2372989&CatId=1969 That is Intel Core i7-3770K Processor - Quad Core, 8MB L3 Cache, 3.50GHz (3.90GHz Max Turbo), Socket H2 (LGA1155), 77W, Fan, Unlocked. Well that is it so far. If anyone has any other suggestions that would be great. I have a 560Ti and I can live with that as BF4 is a monster on the processor and mine isn't up to the task. Thanks and hope to hear back soon. I would say 400 is the most at this time I would like to spend on a processor right now. Less is the best so if you have a deal that would be great.
I have great cooling. After market fan which is awesome. Then I have all fans inside the case like 6 of them. So cooling is set. Looks good. I will keep my eye on that processor as well.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504 Heres what Patrick is talking about. I'm not an intel guy and correct me if Im wrong but I see no difference other than that i7 you chose is only 100mhz faster..no sense in spending $100 more for it. edit: i7 has hyperthreading and 2MB more L3 cache
i7 would be better if you were doing things that you use a workstation PC for. i5 are perfect for gaming, easy to overclock, not hard on the wallet so you can get other components
Nothing other then play games and watch videos. Not really much else. Will the i5 3570k be a massive upgrade for me on my i7 2600k?
