    NNG MONTHLY NEWSLETTER
This letter is the first of its kind for No Nonsense Gamers and it definitely won’t be the last, so sit tight and get ready for a lengthy read :). I guess you could consider this to be a sort of newsletter that is really just designed to talk about anything and everything related to the past, present or future of NNG. It's no secret that we’re growing so it is of the utmost importance that communication remains open and a constant! This is our first big stab at that.

Ok, let’s get right into things!

    OWNERSHIP
Orestes and I have agreed to split ownership of No Nonsense Gamers. He will maintain and finance the gaming and communication servers and I will maintain and finance the website and forum. Both big picture and day to day decisions pertaining to how NNG works will be mutually handled by both of us. Having two people to turn the gears will ensure uninterrupted leadership at all times. It will also allow each of us to focus on our respective assets and run them at a more optimal level. Things like fine tuning server plugins and functionality to optimizing and packing more features into the website. We can focus on apples instead of the apple tree now.
Also, a lot of you are already helping out with various aspects of the NNG community and that's an awesome thing so we hope that will continue. From administrating TeamSpeak, to publishing videos that promote us, or helping mod the forums & platoon and especially keeping an eye on the game servers during all hours of the day. NNG relies heavily on your assistance and we sincerely thank you for it. We could always use additional help, so if you’re interested contact one of us.

    BEING AN NNG MEMBER
In order to be considered an NNG member the following criteria must be met:
    1. You must fill out a NNG Membership Form.
    2. The NNG Team will review and approve or disapprove. We seldom turn someone away.
    3. You must be apply for and be accepted into the NNG Platoon on Battlelog. This is just a formality.
Once these items are met you’re in. You can wear the [NNG] tags and will gain access to the NNG Members Only area. It’s so secretive and mysterious! :argh:Totally worth it!!!

    SERVER CHANGE TO ARMORED KILL
As you all should know by now it has been decided that on September 11th the Massive Warfare server will be switching over to the four brand new Armored Kill maps. The extremely large size of the new maps coupled with their increased vehicle count (both ground and air) will mesh perfectly with our Massive Warfare theme and should drive a lot of new players to the server. Don't forget to RSVP to our NNG Armored Kill Release - Game Server and TeamSpeak Party here:

    GROWTH
NNG is growing. Every week we're seeing new members and that is definitely a good thing. With growth though comes a need to communicate and effectively reach all members of the NNG community. Our forums play a major role there with the new chat module for a quick heads up, the calendar for events booking, the open forums and the NNG Members Only forum. NoNonsenseGamers.com should be your one stop shop for all NNG information, so frequent it often! J

If you are new to NNG, first of all, welcome! When you have a moment hit these important, must see links to start getting a feel for how we roll:

Remember, NNG is not a clan, it’s a community and our intent is to open our doors to fellow gamers and communities who have views in alignment with ours. NNG should be about having fun and as we grow we will all have to work to ensure that that element remains firmly in place. After all, if it’s not fun, why bother? :D

    TEAMSPEAK RULES
SlowRide, our NNG TeamSpeak administrator has created a streamlined set of rules for how TeamSpeak will operate. We’ve yet to have any problems in TS but like all things in NNG, it’s always good to have a rule set handy. Slow’s knowledge of TeamSpeak is unparalleled which is why we’ve placed him in his role but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to improve our TeamSpeak functionality than by all means reach out to him.

    The rules are as follows:

    1. No Griefing or Racism (music spam, language, harassment)
    2. Keep mics closed through PTT or voice activation
    3. All NNG in game admins are TS admins. Ask them for help if needed.
    4. Whisper between squads as needed. Do not set up a whisper without permission from the other user.
    5. If you are LiveStreaming or recording, make it apparent. It's just a courtesy thing. :allsmiles:

    WEBSITE
NoNonsenseGamers.com is our hub but its layout is starting to become a bit dated. In the coming months we will be working to make advanced visual and functional upgrades to our Xenforo forums and homepage. It will give NNG an even more professional look, attract potential new members and ultimately just be a fun place to hang out. No functionality that is currently in place will be removed so you can continue using it just as you do now. Suggestions or feedback on the site / forums are always welcome.

    SERVER RULES
The server rules are readily available for reading at any time on our forums. We won’t use this space as a place to spam the rules because everyone is already familiar with them. Instead what we’re going to do is review a rule that is sometimes open to interpretation so that everyone is on the same page. What better place to start than with the no base rape rule. NNG takes this very seriously and it is flat out not welcome on our server.

If you do this, you are baseraping.

It is often believed that the Flashing Red Screen out of bounds area is the enemy base. This is not true. On all BF3 maps that very out of bounds area allows the enemy too far out of the perimeter of their base to be considered untouchable. What are considered the “walls” of the base are the solid concrete barriers that run the length of the spawn area.

    Demonstration:
South of the red line is considered out of bounds. North of the blue line is considered out of bounds. The aqua colored areas are the actual base areas for each team.

    Acceptable base killing scenarios:

    • Firing back into the enemy base after being fired upon. This doesn’t mean lobbing tank shells into their base because a single bullet was fired outward. We’re talking man to man engagements or vehicle to vehicle engagements.
    • You are in an air battle (jet or heli) and the pilot has tried to return to base to repair. You may fire upon them.
    • When helicopters or jets reach a reasonable altitude or distance out of the base they may be fired upon.
    VIP SLOTS, NOT HAPPENIN'
VIP slots and kicking pubbers to join up into the server is not something we’re very fond of here. The rules and ideals that make NNG special should most definitely not involve giving NNG members a free ticket into the server when it is at capacity. A full server is a blessing and it’s not something that comes easy. To put it bluntly… wait your turn. I distinctly recall the day I decided to procure my own server and the checklist of reasons that lead me to do so. One was being tired of getting kicked by some jerk coming to fill his VIP slot on the server. What the hell? I’m playing the damn game don’t kick me. If you are in a position to remove players from the game so that you may join without queuing, we kindly ask that you refrain from doing so. It’s not a good way to treat the customers that help make our server popular.

    THE FUTURE OF NNG
It’s always hard to predict where NNG will be in the future. Having fun and continuing to grow our community should be givens, but what about beyond that? Will we be entertaining competitive play in the future? Branching into new games? It’s hard to say but the possibilities are endless. We’re a great bunch and it’s always nice to see what NNG has become. It’s not possible without all of you. As with every other topic of discussion above we’d love to hear ideas for how to better NNG, how to further our reach and all in all make this one of the best gaming communities around.

OK so we’re just about done.

If you have an future article idea for this newsletter please contact Ghost.

    FINAL WORDS FROM ORESTES
Since first firing up the BF2 demo years ago, the series has come up just short on delivering on it's promise. I just never got that experience you see in all those amazing trailers.

Since joining NNG, all that has changed. I can barely play the game lonewolf anymore because playing with you guys (and gal) is just so much fun. It really just doesn't even compare, and I hope you guys get the same rush from it I do. And beyond that rush, the personalities running around this place are second to none. Don't any of you dare change a thing, and always make sure your voice is heard. We do care where you stand and what your opinions are.

Thanks to everyone for having my back out there, and trusting me to have theirs.

    FINAL WORDS FROM GHOST
I always feel inclined at the end of one of these long winded and involved writings to state why it is that I carry on like this. Why so much reading? Why so serious! It’s a lot to type up and for what? A gaming community? Seems silly, but it’s really not. Gaming is a hobby…

…But gaming with great people elevates that hobby into something truly special. We all know that feeling. Unforgettable conversations, in-game memories, the jokes, the bullshiting, flying F18’s full speed into MajorSebeny’s head, :D It’s all good shit. Being involved in a solid gaming crew makes it more than gaming. If you really think about it we really are a community. A small one, on a sliver of the internet, inhabiting these servers where we fire round after round into each other, but we do it well and we have fun! Please stick around. No Nonsense Gamers has a lot to offer and we’d like all of you to come along for the ride. It’s been a freaking blast so far and I know it’s only going to get better.

    Thanks,
    [NNG]Ghost and [NNG]Orestes

As a regular on the server, I can attest to the quality of the server and the people that have a hand in making sure things stay fair & fun. I agree with orestes, dont change a thing, you've already got it right :)

Good stuff. Glad to be a part of this community, even if it has been sporadic at best lately. Looking forward to the future!
