I was talking to my dad on the phone tonight when he told me that in the 1990's he was selling 1TB of storage on ribbon tape data storage for 1 million USD a year. For fun I looked up the lowest priced 1TB drive I could find on Newegg. Price : About 50 bucks! and I found unlimited storage on cloud starting at about 60 a month.

This is a picture of him in 1999 doing a tour of the Denver Level 3 gateway. It was always my dream to use the gateway to play games like warcraft tides of darkness and total annihilation. There was a lot of lag on the 56K dial ups and if the "call" dropped, the gamed ended and you had to start over.

This is Iceberg, the 1M a year setup my dad sold. $12 a meg, the article says.

Looking back to the world I knew 16 years ago to today... Im quite amazed at how quick it's evolved. I remember being amazed at my Gameboy color and now I can play Playstation 2 games on my phone that also let's me post here. Not enough people stop and think about it. I almost feel bad for how easy it's gotten for kids now. I used to get screamed at to get outside and play and my brothers get away with playing Xbox and on the computer all day and night. And when they're not on the computer they're Watching something on youtube on a tablet.

I used to play rct and transport tycoon, all the blizzard classics and my snes until my eyes bled. Still got yelled at to go outside though. Although I have a great appreciation for the outdoors now I fear that convenience and comfort will probably ruin us. Lol

Then I ask them about there fancy Apple computer they use and show them what I used back in elementary and middle school and get even crazier looks...

I was in high school when my district got those. They were the first all in one system I had ever seen (Both the tower and monitor in one). I have never been a fan of Apple products, but we all can learn a lot from the way Apple does business. Why did it take so long to step away from awful grey and tan colored computers and step into the better colors of the Apple computer pictured above.
