I think you touch on a good point here.

I was rather impressed to see the formation of the Star Citizen squads and how quickly the organization fell into place..

I was immediately discouraged in joining in the early "pledge rush" by an incident along these lines.. It happened when I joined a SC channel only to be told to leave that channel for private discussions. This wasn't the first time recently I was opted out of a channel for "discussion".

I was so confused.. Do I not merit enough stock in NNG to hear what's happening? Are these guys planning on doing something shady? Are they discussing me?!

The people in this channel were guys who squad led platoons with me in the early PS2 days.. why would I not be considered when NNG is involved?

I know I am not the only person to ask these questions.. and I feel pretty secure about my place here in this community. I can't imagine what questions those who don't have such a history here ask themselves..

Whats worse I come to find out they are laying the plans and ground work for the star citizen division!!!!!!!!

Why would this be done in private? Why are any designs/plans/ideas/strategies being discussed in private?

I love the idea of having a 'council' of leaders, and I like the idea that from time to time these leaders need to convene and discuss things for the big picture, But these meetings should be public record.

NNG was founded on the idea that we are all equal gamers with equal rights in this community. I know first hand what made it such a welcoming place was the inviting attitude of Ghostsheets and Jaamaw.

Hey Disco, I apologize for making you feel like you were left out of the loop. I had no intention of trying to make anyone feel that way, going back if I could have done that differently I would have. We are a community and you all are going to invest as much time in the game as we officers would have. I would have loved to have an open discussion with all of the SC division members to help lay the ground work for its creation. Maybe we can do a revisitation of everything with everyone involved? That sounds like it could be a lot of fun. And perhaps would encourage others to take the plunge.

I think that what I've seen over the past week would have me changing my vote to a 3-2/10.

The nonsense that has been going on behind the scenes and on public forums is completely unnecessary. You all asked for transparency here, so I'll give some.

Jaam and Thane, I know that you both have the best intentions for the outfit, and you want it to progress in a positive direction. If this is truly what you want, and I think it is, you'll need a member base that's willing to follow the plans that you lay. But, based on the last week of arguments on the forums, you both have been acting as if you have to defend each others post until death. You have also been directly insulting peoples posts when they are only asking questions or trying to share their opinion about the issues that are hurting this community. I don't mind that you guys are trying to change the community, but I hope that you'll start doing it in a more positive way rather than aggressive way that you have been doing it for the past week.

Everyone else, I know that the PS2 division ending and many other things may be making us upset. I don't like that the division ended either, I hate it more than anyone. Even though this may be the case, I'm making it a personal goal to try to help the community in any way I can while we're transitioning. I ask that you all do the same.

Now this isn't some kind of martyr post for either side of the arguments, it's simply what I've observed. I'm trying to stay neutral in all of the discussions, but it's getting increasingly difficult when all of the new posts poping up on the forums are flame posts.

I think that a meeting in Teamspeak is needed to sort out the problems that are being discussed right now, because yelling at each other on the forums isn't getting us anywhere.

The meeting is happening tonight and hopefully we're going to be able to resolve ongoing issues.
I'm pretty sure that there is a shitstorm going on in private messages and such, and that some things must be leaking out to the open forum which creates a confusion.

I wouldn't say that what's happening right now is nonsense. We are going through a rough transition from one game to another so of course there will be "casualties".
Some things may be misunderstood and some people may get emotional, but after gaming with Jaamaw for about 3 years or so, I can assure you that he is putting Community's interests before his own, he always has.

Is there a meeting tonight? I know it would have been PS2 outfit meeting night, but since there is no more PS2 division, and no one had said anything about any other meetings, I would have thought there wouldn't be one?

The issues facing NNG are not with its players, its with the leadership. I hope we get it sorted out and get back to our name. (BTW this statement is not directed at any one leader i am speaking about all the leaders. please don't ban me :) )

Just spoke with Jaamaw in Ts and I believe after our chat i should retract a few statements or more clearly state them.
My posts are for what some of you may read as explosive or as an insult but as jaam and i agreed, the spoken word is far better than what is typed on a screen because you or anyone else for that matter may read what is said in a different way than what was originally intended.. speaking you have the opportunity to clarify your comments but typing can get somewhat screwed when misinterpreted.

With that being said Jaam has my full backing on the movement forward he is trying to work towards, yes there will be bumps but if you watch and follow whats happening rather than being as negative i was you might be surprised with the final outcome.

while my original vote was a 1 ( was away far too long and only saw too many things changed in a way i thought was for the bad, i was wrong ) new vote is an 8

Also, too my fellow members that have known me for a while.. i may be intense or abrupt to comment but if i screw up and realize i have done a wrong to someone, i am willing to step up and admit it and do my best to rectify the issue.
Sorry for pissing you guys off, sometimes we speak without the full story being known and that is detrimental and sometimes can ruin even the best of friendships.

I don't do politics. I've never been interested in politics. I'm here because I enjoy the community. I don't even have to be logged into the same game people are playing and I enjoy the company. Though playing the game does help.

Out of the ashes, new life is born. The PS2 community "fell apart", but the Archeage community has been strong. PS2 falling apart was going to happen. Star Citizen would see to that, and I think that was blatantly obvious from all of the enthusiasm from people.

One of the biggest things I enjoy about the shift to Archeage is I'm getting to meet, game with and hang out with people that I never did before. People who were on opposing factions or didn't even really play PS2 anymore.
