Whenever this gets around to being applied, our weapons will have a faster projectile travel rate than any other faction, less damage loss at further ranges, and a general boost to our accuracy. This makes the weapon properties per faction as follows:

TR: Fastest fire rate, highest ammo capacity, medium damage (VS weapon damage is slightly higher than TR in close quarters, but lower at medium - long range. Read below for further information)
NC: Highest damage, worst accuracy (due to recoil), slowest fire rate
VS: Highest projectile speed, highest accuracy, most damage loss at larger ranges (yet they are tuning this down a bit to help us better in long range fights, seeing that of the 3 factions, our damage degradation is the highest at long range)

This further helps categorize the VS as the quick, precise and efficient faction even further. We already have the fastest and most mobile MBT's, the most agile and adaptable Fighter (the Scythe is inherently more capable at playing a "helicopter" role for Air-to-Ground attacks than any of the others - it hovers better, climbs and descends faster, has better lateral and rolling movement for side strafing and dogfighting, and when flown like a helicopter, ie nose pointed down, while utilizing your climbing ability (spacebar by default) you actually move faster than any of the other fighters, though this may be unintended as the Mosquito is supposed to be the fastest), and now the most precise weapons, with a more "beam" like projectile speed.

One could also assume that these projectile enhancements would be applied to our vehicles and aircraft as well, further enhancing their capabilities.

    Thoughts?

The Softpoint ammo <??> is going to be an amazing upgrade for us if the travel speed is a decent bump.

Uhh yeah this sounds amazing as a Heavy. I have the Reflex 2 for VX29 Polaris and I do most of my work at medium - long range. Its a very steady gun and I can put 7 rounds in someone very quick and easy. Last night I got a chance to really test out the Resist Shield too, and holy crap do you become invincible. I went from barely killing 1 person 1v1 to being able to kill 2-3 without breaking a sweat. I usually die before the shield itself even runs out of power.

This balance was much needed and embodies the idea for infantry from PS1.

Yeah, I have the Pulsar LSW for HA, and while not as steady or accurate as the Polaris from longer ranges, you can still put 4 or 5 rounds into someone with the Soft Point ammo from a pretty safe distance, although you need to lead them slightly. So as Wrath has said, if the difference is significant enough to give us greater projectile speed than the other factions while still using Soft Point... would be awesome.

But yes, the Resist Shield is AMAZING.

Alright, here are my thoughts on the notes.

What the nanites does this even mean? I can't make heads or tails of it.

I'm pretty sure this will just make it so hacking + killing flash terminals in enemy territory to make them unrepairable will become extremely common for defenders.

I'm ambivalent about the change right now. On the one hand, it will mean less running to get to the action when you don't have spawn options. It will make the vehicle resource and sundy spawn timer a little more important. On the other hand, the game revolves so heavily on creating/denying spawn points that messing with their availability this severely this late in the beta seems.. well, I'll say unwise. It will probably make the game feel more zerg-y, and I don't think that will be positive. We'll see.

Yay weapon buffs! I don't think the reload time buff was needed honestly. The projectile speed increase for everybody is nice -- sometimes it feels too hard to hit moving infantry at very long range to me, but that's basically just my opinion.

Oh good. It was really annoying having to zoom in all the way to see them.

Awesome! I think making teamplay easier can't be bad, especially with public squads. I hope the mean that it uses the instant action timer, however. It might also open up a couple tactical possibilities like using the squad leader as a 30 min cooldown squad beacon.
I'll believe it when i see it. Edit: formatting is a mess, trying to clean it up

    LOL yup.

With the grief, what they mean is basically you wont get weapon locked as easily.

The buff to the reload speed will be nice. With the VX29 Polaris I have to be fairly careful when I reload because it does take a long time. I am interested to get home and see what it is like tonight.
