I have that album and that is one of my favorite songs from The Satch. His playing is incredible. Perfect tapping and sweeps all around!

You can record in any program, but mastering is always the hard part because you track more stuff, you inevitably get frequencies that interfere with each other. For example, bass frequencies usually fall in around the 80khz range, so you want to give the bass track most of the low end power. In my case I took some of the midrange frequency and high end / treble freq's and brought them way down on the bass track so they didn't collide with the piano tracks or strings tracks. Guitars, and vocal tracks usually are in the 2khz range by nature, so you want to give them higher end output. Less bass, more treble, and mid. If you give every intrument or track, the room it needs to breath in it's own frequency range, without interfering or overlapping with other frequencies then you start to get one sound. Something that sounds like one piece of music. Not 10 instruments all just playing at the same time. You have to really do a deep dive into adjusting equalizer ranges on all your tracks and not just adjusting the overall volume of the tracks. Once you "get it" it's actually kind of fun to work on.

Thanks for the feedback man. I'm using Cubase 5, Guitar Rig (which if you haven't checked out, you should, because you will love it) and EZ Drummer with a modified kit.

    Later :D
