To Those with FPS issues

Turning the Render quality down helps a ton! I went from 30fps at the warp gate to 50-55fps by lowing it 25%.

+Edit: Do you have to turn the planetside2.exe to high priority every time you launch the game?

 

Yes to the high priority question.

I had been running with my render quality way down at like 60%, was able to turn it back up all the way after using these changes.

 

I have not noticed that big of a difference with my render quality at 75%.

 

how do you run this in high priority mode?>

 

1) Load game
2) Minimize game
3) Ctrl+alt+delete and open task manager
4) Go to processes tab
5) Right click "Planetside2.exe" and "set priority" to "high" (NOT "realtime"... NOT NOT NOT)

You have to do this every time you load the game up. Not a big deal though.

 

How to launch in HIGH priority:
Make a shortcut. In the Target window, just add /high after whatever the target is.
So "TARGETHERE" /high will always launch your program in high.

Dunno if there's a way to get it to work with PS2 though, now that I think of it because there's a launcher program and a client program and theyre separate. Grr.

 

pro tip thanks!! It wont lauch with ps2 though, you're correct the appear to be seperate.

 

also this new patch borked up my settings again.

I have the listed configuration and am getting crap FPS. Pretty close to unplayable again.

 

Yeaaah, let's just say I'm REALLY looking forward to January optimizations haha.

This program claims to be able to save a program's priority through the task manager. Also the site name bears an uncanny resemblance to a porn website.

Hopefully this works with Planetside 2, I know I get a nice little boost with high priority enabled.
