Someone had posted about people being forced to use cockpit view in Historical/Realistic battles I had posted other stuff in the topic but I want to see what you guys think of this as well, not that it will ever happen but it would be a perfect setup for people who want to move up or down in battle modes...

What I would love to see is 2 versions of Historical/Realistic modes.

    1. Historical Arcade mode -- Our current version of Realistic battles, mouse/joystick, cockpit, 3rd person view. All your choice

    2. Realistic Historical - All the same flight models as the original Historical, but the Pilots have to fly in cockpit view only. Basically a dumbed down version of Simulator battles. You can use a Joystick or mouse but you still have the instructor handling your rudder and ailerons for you.

Now this is just something I want to personally see, not that I would ever expect it to happen, but for people just coming out of arcade version 1 is perfect for them, those who want to work their way into Simulator battles, version 2 is a great way to get your feet wet with the cockpit feel and using a joystick.

This is exactly what I thought when I first started out in FRB and Phaedo and I had a good discussion about this.
What you're saying makes perfect sense and flying in a cockpit mode with mouse controls sounds like fun but... I don't think it will ever happen.
After spending 20+ hours flying in SBs and getting some kills under your belt, you will see why this game mode will never happen.

I agree with this totally. Coming from someone who is still getting used to simulator mode. I just really like flying with the flight controls now and would like to use them in realistic battles but I know I would get pwned by the M&K users if I tried it. The immersion with the cockpit view and using a HOTAS setup is just fucking awesome in this game and I am completely hooked.

I'd rather see them spend effort on creating bomber cockpits...

I only fly simulator, so I don't care about other game modes :)

Well sorry that we all started out in arcade. It was a though I posted to try and help members of the community who start out in arcade work their way up into simulator more.

My reaction wasn't meant to be offensive. I just think it's strange to force people in a cockpit, but then they don't have cockpits for every plane... it gives a huge tactical advantage if you're able to look over your own nose. That's why I rather see them spent effort on creating a cockpit for each plane.

This is why there are 2 modes instead of just Realistic, it was only an idea I posted. Some people want to go to simulator mode but aren't ready yet.
The Realistic Historical mode I proposed would actually help a lot in preparing people who want to elevate their game to simulator, it also accommodates sim pilots who are willing to drop down a step to fly and help their friends learn how to fly in cockpit mode without having to worry about rudders, and ailerons and such.
The other mode I proposed Arcade Historical you can fly in any view mode you wish, just like the current Realistic (former Historical) mode.
For those without a joystick or do not want to fly in cockpit mode.
As far as cockpits for bombers, that should've been done LOOONG before they even started tanks. That's just Ganjinn's stupidity

You can just fly Realistic with mouse controls in cockpit view. Naceo does ABs like that as well, just in RB, it will help you learn how to aim better.
