    Hey NNG!

I've noticed, and I'm sure many of you as well, the slowdown in action within NNG on PS2. After the surge of players post-merge, things have slowed down a fair bit. We still manage 6-12 players in the evenings on your average night, I'm not sure how many during the daytime since I'm at work.

For those veterans of the game, as many of you are, this is not a big surprise. Nor is it a big deal. It's summertime - it might even be a good idea to get some sunlight on our pasty white but chiseled bodies. The natural ebb and flow of online gaming is one that I don't completely understand, but it seems pretty regular. Either way, I made this post because sometimes it is important to recognize when you are in a slump, even if just temporary. This way we don't lose morale while people are out enjoying life, getting drunk and shooting blueberries, grapes or raspberries a little bit less than usual.

This next patch is looking pretty badass. I can't wait for these directive rewards. I anticipate much farming by many of us as we go after that shiny gun or armor. The secondary benefit for those of you who have competitive interests is that these awards force you to auraxium different weapons, which encourages broadening of skill. Anyways, I hope you are all enjoying your summer. NNG is still strong to the core, and remains a solid community within PS2. We will be here when you get back.

Damn, ya beat me to this by a few hours. Was on my mind recently and especially after some issues yesterday evening.

It is healthy and 100% understandable to take breaks, long or short, from a game. Seems silly to say it but I fear some feel obligated to play for X reason. NNG is not just PS2 or WT, it is a community that does and will continue to shift in tastes/interests, players, level of activity, etc.

When you consider the hundreds of hours people put into the game and then amount of time others like the officers put into organizing practicea, scrims, events, etc it is totally reasonable to expect ppl to 'burn out' for awhile.

Personally, I'm here for the players more than the games they play so even though I ain't touching dirty MOBAs with a ten foot sterilized pole, I still come here to smack talk Jaam about his weak ass lung muscle (dont ask if you know whats good for you).

Good post Mustarde, I have been pretty inactive on and off the last few months, but now I guess I can say I am making it official. I am retiring from PS2. The game isnt as fun for me as it once was and I cant see myself logging on anymore for something Im just not enjoying anymore.

Im still sticking with NNG in War Thunder and Star Citizen, but my PS2 days have officially ended.

Sry but it is a double xp weekend. You will soon be strapped to your desk chair and forced to play for 72 hours straight. The less you resist, the more FUN you will have.

    Regards,
    PS2 Fun Police

    Thanks for starting the thread!

I'm momentarily scarce around PS2, but I'll be back. I've been working on raid attunement in Wildstar, and my buds just started up a virgin Minecraft server instance (running Yogscast Complete, which is a new pack for me!) so I'm doing a lot of base-building too.

Definitely not retiring from PS2 though. (I admit, sometimes I log into TS, see very few people on, and decide to play something else, though, which probably doesn't help the numbers...)

I reject your hourly participation requirement as a farce and will counter any Redbull injections with copious amounts of Beer, Vodka and Rum, the "Fun Police" have no jurisdiction here !
