That sucks you had a bad experience. I've had no issues out of mine so far. Hopefully I don't. I've got a 27" ViewSonic I've had for about 5 years or so now and I've not had any issues out of it either.

Oh yea well if it was the cheaper option you definitely made out awesome then. When I was shopping around for monitors an equivalent BenQ was around $80-$100 more than the Asus I went with. If they had been closer in price I would've gotten a BenQ as well.

I wasn't trying to persuade your decision I was just throwing another option out there for you to consider.

Unfortunately my psu and ssd parts didn't arrive by an estimated delivery date (both should be in by today) so my pc is delayed by the looks of it :(

Vendor has no delivery date for them.

Gotta hate that. I always get pretty excited when I start building a new PC. Have you built one before? You'll get mixed emotions about how important it is but if you don't already I'd get an anti static mat with a wrist attachment and keep myself grounded. You're better safe than sorry and at around $30 it's well worth the added safety. It only takes one time and the static required to destroy components is so low you may not even feel it.

I'd hate to see you finally get everything in and fry something. Some people will say just touching the chassis is enough but it's just not worth the risk.

I hope all your stuff comes in and you can build it by this weekend!

I have a week off in 1-2 weeks time so I wanted to do it then.
I haven't built a pc but I have worked with electronics before and disassembled my laptop to clean it which involved removing everything because it didn't have a cover for just the fan.
I would only work near a kitchen or somewhere with metal that is grounded to the building

Man I bet that was just a blast =P I was going to take one of my laptops apart before to clean it. I didn't get very far into it before I decided I didn't want to go any further. Haha!

My laptop was out of warranty as I immediately installed another OS on to it, so it was all or nothing :P

And my PSU and SSD are finally back in stock so hopefully my order will be shipped before the weekend.

Yup. I will finally be able to play games with friends without hardware lag. It's one of the main reasons I don't play ps2 or other games too much as it eventually gets too frustrating.
