So a number of people have mentioned that to get the black pearl, we need to murder the pirate boss on the actual current black pearl near growlgate island. I've done some research into it because I was bored while searching for illegal tree farms. Far as I'm aware, that's not the case. Now, I did find a guide about the black pearl. I.. don't quite like the website it's actually on. Bleh. So for our purposes, I'ma just go ahead and do some blatant copying, and some paraphrasing. To build the black pearl: 1. To Collect 55 Black Pearl Blueprint (drop by pirate boss above level 40) 2. 100 x Wood, 100 x Iron to build Construction Platform 3. 5 x Pack Tree,5 x Pack Iron, 5x Cloth So in essence, it's like a galleon. I recall it's faster and has more health though. Worthwhile to get, yes? Maybe as someone with way too much money on hand. Or time. But those fragments do sell for a bit. Technically, a group is not necessary. It makes it hell of a lot easier and quicker though. It's something to do. There's approximately 14..? Locations of bosses which can drop it apparently. I don't know the respawn, but every time I go over to these locations I've run into them. Keep in mind this isn't a guaranteed drop either. Also, I've only listed the Nuia locations. They are 2* mobs of varying level. Also, they tend to be in elite mob areas which will aggro you if you get close enough to them. Wandering Captain Kingston Level: 35 Has two adds next to him at all times at least. Shy Denly Level: 35 Accompanied by two other 35 mobs. They don't move so the trio will aggro. Soloing you have to kill the two adds first (about 35K health odd?) or disable them and burn the main boss before dropping aggro. Dahuta Slave Belucci Level: 40 Elite / Demon I haven't fought this one. I don't know what it's like I'm afraid. There's like six bosses here. They're in set locations and don't patrol. They are: Senior Knight Albert Knight Captain Herbert Metal Golem #29 Brainwashed Tutor Evelyn Brainwashed Butler Heinmann Golden Goblet Leader Denslow Problem though: These are all level 40. They are all elites. And it's a pain in the ass to get to these guys solo. I'm not even kidding, hell, Evelyn herself if you touch her aggros FOUR 40 1*s. Usually you end up pulling at least three in total. egad. I'm sure the guy on the black pearl counts too but far as I understand it, there's other ways to do this. Just something else I wanted to plant here.
I killed the one in Solzreed last week, just because. I saw a named elite mob on the beach and decided to kill him. I think he only dropped a coin purse for me. Took me a few tries though because like you stated it's tough to get these mobs by themselves.
It's not a guaranteed drop, that's for certain. But the spawn rate is pretty high as I see it. They're pretty much just elites.
Perhaps 7pm EST tomorrow, depending on Halcyona? Even during the war we should be mainly left alone anyhow. I don't know the respawn time for these things but it'd also be wonderful for helping level one additional tree perhaps.
