Seeing how the Fave movie thread took off, let's see what everyone reads!

I have a 3 way tie on fav authors Jim Butcher/Terry Brooks/Terry Goodkind also really enjoyed Brian Lumleys works as well.

Jim Butcher writes the Harry Dresden files/Codex Alera books.
Terry Brooks writes the Shannara books (These where really the first novels I have ever read, my mother got the for me a few of them for christmas on year back in middle school and started my love of books)
Terry Goodkind wrote the Sword of Truth series.
Brian Lumley wrote the Necrosope series.

as you can tell I really enjoy Fantasy/Sci-fi books, I do read other stuff but I tend to always fall back to Fantasy/sci-fi area of the book store. :)

Peter F Hamilton, big sci fi series, Nights Dawn trilogy, the Void trilogy, all mad books and quite well written.
For the fantasy I'm going with Robert Jordan, 'cause I've read the wheel of time series about 12 times cover to cover at this point. They're f***ing awesome.
Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams for the lighter side of well written sci fi and fantasy things.
Self proclaimed voracious bibliophile, I always have a book in progress, if not several.

Terry Brooks is my favorite the entire Shanarra series prequel books and now the Dark Legacy books.
I also read a lot of game lore books.
The current series of books I read are:
    1: halo
    2: world of warcraft
    3: starcraft/ sc2
    4: diablo

I also have my original series of books of Conan, from 1980, they are all so old and worn out.

I have a bunch of Stephen King books but I stopped reading him his books got boring.

Also a big fan of fantasy books, didn't read a great deal after i got out of high school but in 2008 i got a Kindle and started reading quite a lot again. Some of my current favs are

Brandon Sanderson: Mistborn books, also finished Wheel of Time after Jordan passed

    Brent Weeks: Night Angel trilogy

Ernest Cline: Ready Player One (highly recommend to anyone who is a gamer and around 30 or over)

Patrick Rothfuss: The Kingkiller Chronicles. Rothfuss is a hell of writer, he's new and only has 2 books out but those 2 are the only 2 i have bought in the last 5 years in "dead tree" form and the only 2 i have ever went through the trouble of getting signed.

right now im finishing off Alloy of Law (spin off of Mistborn). I plan to jump into Jim Butcher next... heard to many good things about Dresden Files not to give it a go

Used to hate reading but then I picked up Metro 2033 by Dimitry Glukhovsk. It's awesome.

I read every night now, once I log off I put in at least an hour of reading.
Helps me fall asleep better to be honest.

Mortos did you know the new Tery Brooks "The Bloodfire Quest" is coming out on the 12th of this month?

Some of the best books I've read recently are the "A song of Ice and Fire" books by GRR Martin. I love the subtle details and all the possible interpretations these details allow. Wish 2014 would get her sooner...

As much as I love the tv show, I really could not get into the books, got halfway into the second book but never finished it.

    YES.

I highly suggest the Mistborn series. I've nothing but awesome things to say about it. I haven't read any of Wheel of Time (though I hear it's super slow, as far as action goes) but I hope that Sanderson "finishes" that series off, or passes it along to another writer so that he can write more Mistborn (or any) books. THAT is how good Mistborn is.

I've also started on Alloy of Law, but I got the Ender's Game series from my brother in law, so I feel obligated to read those first. I'm only about half way through the first book, but it's well enough so far. I've heard great things about Dresden Files as well, so that'll be next (after Ender's and Alloy.)
