I looked thru the PS2 forums and found this. I'm not sure if its already posted in the members area but I figured i'd post it here as well.

-This helped, despite the fact it is high res graphics. One notible feature if you don't run with max field of vision, this one can take a bit of getting used to, but i'm liking the increased FOV. I also disabled the motion blur, but that also seems to improve frames when its in use for some reason. Not sure why.

    - if the above doesn't help, do this one. It alone helped my frames a bit.

There's still a lot of snake-oil, hopeful thinking, and just downright magic voodoo advice out there.

I have an AMD FX-6100 (3.3GHz, 6-cores, Bulldozer) along with 16GB RAM and GeForce 660 Ti 2GB video card and I still get stuck with 15fps in busy fights like the Crown or the bio-lab farms. According to the in-game FPS monitor, I'm CPU-limited. There's a pair of hot-fixes that I installed from Microsoft which helps the Win7 scheduler work better with Bulldozer CPUs, but that hasn't helped much with PS2.

One thing to experiment with is adjusting how aggressive Win7 is at "core parking". This is the setting that controls how aggressive Win7 is at turning off (or reducing the clock speed) on underused cores. By default, it uses values of "64" (hex, which is 100 decimal) for ValueMax which makes it very aggressive at turning off Intel CPU cores (possibly does not work on AMD CPUs). Instead of changing it from 0x64 to 0x00 (zero), I suggest bringing it down in increments (0x48, then try 0x32).

Mostly, I think we're stuck waiting on PS2 developers to release the optimization patch in January.
