That was a trailer full of badassery and win. Don't fuck it up, Sony. Don't fuck it up.

I've just been running the game through Steam anyway. Added it as a non-Steam game. Works fine.

For real! When I saw that CG trailer I was like "Oh man, I want to jump on a galaxy and shoot everyone from the roof!"

Nice move by sony, honestly. They probably wanted it on Steam to gain the client-base. There is probably a decently large group of folks who will download the game solely because they found it on steam under "Free" who would have never known about it otherwise... but sadly this is the same group of people who have single core processors and computers that can't run the game. The PS2 Devs need to follow through and optimize the game better to take advantage of this excellent marketing move or else it won't be worth it!

My game would get screwed up when played through steam (as non-steam game). Most games that weren't meant for Steam have issues with that in-game background steam community thingy.

They sure will get a lot of players through steam when it's released though. I know a lot of people who never heard of Planetside (1 or 2) but did see the trailer on steam. More players, more kills for us

Yeah, there are quite a few games where running through Steam when it's not intended to be can cause issues. I normally just test it and if it runs fine then I keep it that way. So people messaging me don't force me to alt tab away to respond.

Weird, I didn't have any Steam-related issues with PlanetSide 2.

I do know that XSplit crashes PS2 if I have it running and I change resolution or swap to the desktop.

Not touching steam w/ a ten foot pole. When steam doesn't work (and it doesn't work often) I still want to be able to play PS2. So keeping it very very separate.
