My '08 Subaru Impreza Manual is in trouble... Last night there was a storm and I drove home in it. When I got home, I engages the parking brake waiting for the rain to die down. When it did, I turned off the car, put it in first and got inside. I got into the car today in the afternoon, disengaged the parking brake, attempted to leave and nothing... the car won't budge. Anyone here that is a mechanic or any of that crap know how I may get it to release? Or am I fucked...

brake is just stuck, if you can just try to nudge the car forwards and backwards a couple of times, should pop it loose.
if that doesn't work, jack up the rear end, take the tires off and give the brakes a tap with a hammer, don't smash it, but don't be a baby about it either

from a tech's point of view,tFrexor is dead on, if it releases you need to lubricate the parking brake cable and check it for rust.

When you say nudge, do you mean pushing it or doing it with the car on and tapping the gas. If the second one, I have done that and it doesn't work unfortunately. I'll jack it up tomorrow and try tapping the brakes.

both should really work, can probably get more of a nudge just by shoving the car bank and forth a bit. like highlander said, prob just some rust jamming it up a bit.

if you do end up having to lift it, chock the front wheels so it doesn't roll and you don't end up dropping the car on your head.

Yea, luckily it's an AWD so it won't do that, but I'll do it just in case. I'll let you know later on today how it pans out. Thanks bud!
