RSI have changed their update format, some game files and download servers so the older installers are no longer working. As a result, you now have to uninstall your older version and install the new launcher instead and re-install the game through that. The new servers have only two patches; no game -> 1.1 and 1.0.3->1.1. But they are suggesting that people just re-install for best performance. While this is not ideal and having to re-download is a pain (The game is 25.5 GB or more), they do claim that the new service should stop 80+% metafile errors. It should remove the need for the "delete your user file" fix. And the new download servers are run by another company with more servers with higher download speeds and more server location meaning that you will get better ping to them and a steadier connection due to proximity.
