I've been perusing forums and annoying the hell out of people in TS about this. I have some weird bug/lag issue where in large battles all character models will begin to skip around and I can perform zero damage to anybody, including friendly fire. I've monitored my cpu and gpu usages and temps, everything seems to be fine. I don't know much about malware but I formatted both of my hard drives yesterday and re-installed. Yes, I deleted my UserOptions.ini and validated my files. Patrick helped me check the TCP refresh rate (I believe?) and it was good. I can't tell if this is hardware or software related. WTF

That's definitely what I'm trying to describe here. I'm trying to narrow it down, maybe tcp acknowledgements?

Download wintimertester from the link in this post and see what it comes out to, That post also explains how games, including planetside, rely on windows QPC to measure things like fps and such as well as a possible fix to tell windows to use your platform clock speed.

For reference, I'm running a AMD FX-8350 CPU on an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX motherboard. I removed AI suite completely from my system and overlock through the bios only. Wintimertester shows the clocks at a 1/1 ratio.

A QPC problem makes a lot of sense now that I've learned more about it. I'm using AMD Vision engine control center, I have a Phenom II 1075 with a giggabyte 870A-UD3, it seems like there is conflict somewhere that is telling the computer what speed to run the fans(I hear them changing speed abnormally rapid since starting up planetside again. This morning while monitoring cpu temps with the control center my cpu WAS overheating after a very short period of time. Turning off AMD Overdrive in the control center immediately cooled the cores.... but I'm still having the issues in-game. I wil read through this and see if it helps, looks promising.

Ok. So, ThrottleStop has shown an incongruity in the speeds at which they run. Only thing now is, I cant run that bcdedit command in the command window. Returns "The boot configuration data store could not be opened. Access is denied." Seems like something is blocking that command now. EESH!
