An Experiment

For at least the next few weeks, I will be accepting random requests to join the squadron we get in game. Since the -NNG- squadron was set up in War Thunder, we've had 20+ randoms apply to join in game, and up till recently, I've rejected each and every one of them with a message thanking them for the interest, and to apply in these forums in order to join us in game. Sadly though, not a single one took the extra effort to come here & do that. I see this as a wasted opportunity to increase our numbers.

I ask all of you for help in 2 ways during this experiment.

1. If you EVER see one of our random guys in a game acting in a manor unbecoming of an NNG member, please send me a PM in these forums about it asap.

2. If you see one on in the squadron tab, please make an attempt to get to know them, invite them to your squad if you have room, and most importantly, invite them on to our TS. Dont worry about pointing them to the forums at first, unless they show interest in it. Just hang/play with them a bit, get them in TS, and then if all feels good, send them this way for an app drop and the chance to truly join NNG.

I will end the experiment once one of two things become clear. Either we end up letting too many assholes in, or we have no luck over time getting these guys into TS/squads/the forums.

Why not let the randoms in and if you find they are assholes, just remove them. Many players inthe BF platoon and PS2 outfit aren't arm we on the forums but they still play with us.

 

part of the point of having a division is to bring in new members. what I'm saying IS to let the randoms in, kick them if they are assholes, but place priority on trying to get to know the guys, get them on ts, and then get them to apply to join NNG proper. I posted about it because up till now, it wasn't how it was done. And I call it an experiment, because if it ends up not generating WT division app drops, there's no reason to continue the practice.

 

Sounds good. 90% of our BF3 division came about before we had any app or recruitment process. We kept the good and removed the bad. And there was what, one bad?

Time to get the WT numbers up

 

It's in the works, I'll check out the forums and make a recruitment post.
Since there is barely any chat in game, forums is the only way to go.
I wish there was a way to run our own dedicated server, that would make things a lot easier.
