The B17 was a fuel leaking flying bus. The fuel dumps on the wings would constantly drizzle fuel out the FAA mad them upgrade them so they would no vent in the air, this supposedly caused a back pressure in 2 of the engines exploding them. Sending it into the field on its belly.
