Idk if there are any vet's within the community or not. But I stumbled upon this youtube channel. it is pretty informative, as to what our troops have gone through with this war in the middle east. The bravery of some of these man is movie-like. This is the first video you see when you enter the channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/FUNKER530?feature=watch that is the link to the actual channel.
Proud of them, not so much why they are there. I support the men and women of our Armed Forces and pray for them to be safe.
In the video, this guy exposed his back to the same direction as he was shooting. I've never been in real combat but I'm having a hard time making sense out of this. To me looked like when he moved up, he was right out in the open and became a perfect target.
I think he was trying to determine the direction of the fire. I too have not been in combat so I cannot speculate to his reaction or why he was doing what he did.
I though the same thing... I have no combat experience but thought it was odd that he would run out into fire like that... but then I read the description on the page. He ran out into the field to draw fire, from his squad who was pinned from hard machine gun fire. it also says he got hit 4 times
He had glancing hits but none of them actually penetrated. He went back to base with some bad bruises. I saw that video many months ago
