http://nononsensegamers.com/forums/threads/upgrading-my-processor.1450/ So I made that thread some time ago. Well, for two days now I've had my new computer. I ended up getting exactly as Phragg suggested in that thread. Some people requested to know if this helped. The answer is yes. I'm still fine-tuning my settings, but I've got it GPU-locked (5-year-old Graphics Card) at a steady 20-30 FPS. Small fights, large fights, all of them. This is with my graphics a lot higher than they used to be (bare minimal and still at about 10 FPS). In short: OH THANK THE SWEET, TAP-DANCING LORD! Now to turn my 0.5 K/D around. ;_; Since the GPU is the weak point now, what settings affect the GPU more than the CPU?
Have you tried a temp over-clock? You'll have to reset it every time but I get some performance using ATI-tray tools.
Haven't done any OCing yet. I was making sure things were stable first. But I'll be getting to that in the next couple days. And my Graphics Card is Nvidia. Don't know if that would work with ATI-tray tools.
Yea, it´s one of the easiest OC tools available for Nvidia. You can adjust the RPM from your fans per given temperature so you have a pretty good control of your temperature.
The apartment complex won't like that. Then again, they've yet to repair the leak in my closet ceiling so screw them! I'll mess around with the program tomorrow. I've only got a short shift. Will report back.
