well, after i mildly ballsed up the HA guide i did, i wondered if i should bother posting this. i figured it couldn't hurt, so here it is. i was on my higher level TR on Waterson, [roll on transfer tokens!] there was nothing much going for us on Indar as the VS had Old Araxium Mines just outside the warpgate, the platoon i was in had no leadership whatsoever, and it was generally hard to get anything done. i grabbed my HE lightning, trundle up there, and started helping to clear that. apparently Feldspar was quite active, so Vanu kept trickling in. i got my tank blown up, so after running around the base for a while, i considered redeploying to get another tank. there was a Max that needed repair, so i ran over to do that and drop ammo before i left. a LA came out of nowhere, winged me, but the Max got him. i though m'kay, i'll follow him for a bit, since he saved me. i basically TF2 Medic'd him for the next 10 minutes, in which he cleared out some rooms and the point, which we took back. the zerg was moving up to Feldspar, so having nothing else to do, i legged it up there too. when i got there, i saw the same Max hanging outside one of the outlying buildings, again needing repair. i tried to leg it across the open, but got a turret round up my arse which put me down to one health bar. now, at this point, you usually fuck off and try to find a Medic, but that meant running across the same ground so i wasn't having that. i followed the Max into one of the buildings, popped my head out, and saw a ZOE standing around outside. he saw me, missed me, and i hopped back in hoping the Max would notice so he could engage. he didn't. well, i thought i was boned, so i threw down some ammo for after the ZOE was going to instagib me. but he came in that same doorway, ignored me, got a few of my shotgun rounds in the back, and the Max finished him off. well fuck, that worked out pretty well, i thought, so i stuck with him still. we went round the side of the tower, through up the stairs, engaging some scattered VS along the way, and eventually made it all the way to A point and took it. and promptly got involuntary C4 enemas. 15 minutes later i got a thank you /tell from the Max player, who repaired my lightning at least 4 times in the ensuing tank battle. now. did we actually do anything significant? no. was my kdr in the toilet? absolutely. was the resistance we faced organised and competent? nope. did, by all levels of standards, we lose that engagement? we got absolutely shredded. so why have i bothered to share this when anyone of you could tell me at least 10 stories about how you won your fights? i. felt. accomplished. that Max player had stayed up for a good 30-40 minutes, gotten at least a handful of kills, and probably enjoyed the fuck out of it. as an outfit, we get caught up in big troop pushes, tactical victories, and killstreaks. but let's not forget how to help each other enjoy the game. </soapbox>
This is one of the reasons I'm usually playing medic. I am, quite frankly, a rubbish player, though I have gotten better. Even so, I feel like I am directly contributing to a fight with quick rezzes and aoe healing. Feels good, man, feels good.
Dude, you revive like a boss. You have revived me, especially my MAX, where it made a huge difference plenty of times.
Murderotica...best NG I have seen. You cannot loose her, as she put it she is a really great stalker! IF you have tried to follow me while I am in a max suit you know how I do not stand still....ever!
video games, possibly the only place outside of Steve Irwin's head that would be taken as a compliment.
