Hey All, We kicked ass this holiday break. Something that I think would help our Airforce is if we had every Lib accompanied by 2 scythes. Typically our libs are 2/3 and having them accompanied by 2 scythes would obviously involve 4 people. This would mean if had an active, coordinated squad of 12 we could get 3 libs and 6 fighters. IMO this is better than having like 5 libs and 2 fighters. I believe that this tactic would drastically improve how long the libs lifespan would last thus giving us air power for a longer duration. We all saw how powerful the dalton is, we should keep that thing in the air for longer rather than spam it only to have them get shot down due to lack of protection. Anyways, thoughts?
Viable, but there's a slight issue with how air is handled right now anyways: coordination and airspace. If we are consistently fielding about 9 aircraft at all times, that's a pretty crowded airspace, not counting enemy aircraft and randoms. The aerial squad will more or less need to be in constant communication anyways, but they'll need some practice to avoid smacking into another air vehicle. Then there's comments about weapons loadout. Scythes can be broken down into two roles: Anti-ESF and Anti-armoured Anti-ESF is as you expect. A2A missiles, they'll be able to make short work of enemy aircraft. Anti-armoured is slightly different. They do use rocket pods, but the purpose of this is a bit different: They are meant to kill liberators or galaxies, in addition to having the firepower to knock out skyguards/turrets. I'd personally suggest that out of the six fighters, we have two which are meant to kill the bigger aircraft in short order.
I'm still trying to get a handle on the scythe. I think my low frames are really screwing me up. On the ground i have no issue with 19 - 25fps but in the air making quick turns it gets too choppy. I also roll with the Light PPA (laser cannon thing) and Rocket Pods. However I never tend to last very long. I want to though, flying is so fun.
