Sound cards. Any point to them anymore?

    Most onboard sound is cheap afterthoughts, usually they cut corners with the SnR, especially in the recording inputs. My SB XFI has way better quality (both output and input) than my crappy onboard sound, and I have a pretty premium motherboard (ASUS Sabertooth Z77).

    So for me: Soundcard = yes.

    Lots of soundcards have headers for the FP connectors on cases, I know mine does.
