Space bases are invulnerable if setup properly. It's just like building a ship, except bigger and won't move. You can equip with shields and everything.

 

man i can 't even start it i click start game and form that menu it dowsnt even work any more

 

my game failed to load when I had the graphics set too high.

 

This game is awesome! Built a salvage monster last night that just cleans out asteroids in minutes. Decided to clean out a space station (wow, lots of loot). Next thing I know the space station called for backup or something and I had to out run several pirates. What an awesome game, so much potential.

Makes me excited for Star Citizen again!

 

I built a salvage rig that can eat straight through a planet, suffice to say it's pretty awesome,

I have a GIANT salvage wheel.

 

I meant will pirates seek out and attack my space base while I'm out in the galaxy blowing stuff up? Because a space station doesn't have to move I can make it large without worrying about sacrificing movement.

 

Im not sure, But you can build turrets on your base to keep it safe. I saw in a video that turrets are broken right now but I have not made one yet.

 

Pirates won't go to intentionally destroy your base, other players can and will though.

 

I'm not playing against other players yet. I'd prefer to mess around with different ship styles. I just don't want to spend a much of time away from my base and come back to see it damaged because I didn't want to invest the time in building an "invulnerable" one right away.
