Hey everyone, it's probably time I updated you on the current state of the server. As it stands the world has grown to the point where even with no players online it's still very heavily working my server. All of the chunk loaders, pipes, quarrys, etc. mean that the steady-state load is sort of ridiculous. While I'm more then happy to continue running the NNG Minecraft server, it's causing a noticeable increase in my power bill; not to mention the noise of the fans as the server attempts to keep a reasonable temperature has become rather annoying. So I can see 2 options going forward: either a map reset or a new server host. A fresh start certainly has it's advantages, we would start with the newest available versions of all the mods etc. and I could rectify the problems that have given us the most grief. Additionally, it could even cause some renewed interest in the server. I know one of my favourite parts of Minecraft is the initial exploration/settling. Alternatively (or additionally), if someone has the spare resources they could host the server as it currently is. Keep in mind that the world is giant (over 3 gigs) and stuffed full of resource-intensive structures, so a spare 10 year old computer or cheep Minecraft hosting isn't going to be able to handle it. I'm also open to other suggestions, so what are your thoughts on the matter? I hate to have to do this, but as it stands things have gotten unmanageable.
