I'm not a PL or an SL and have no desire to be one but I step up to the play a lot more often than most if the officers do.
The reason I'm posting this is because of a conversation with one of the officers about me putting people back in place for not following orders.
All I'm saying is that if I'm leading a platoon, it is casual , it is for fun, it is for farming certs but you better do wtf I'm telling you to do or find a new platoon. It's that simple. I have very low tolerance for bullshit and nonsense. I will not yell at anyone or put them down but at the same time I would expect for people to use common sense and step up when needed.

Chatter in TS, that's another issue. Even if I'm not the one leading.
I personally don't give a flying fuck about how someone got killed and how OP the gun was and how Higby isn't doing his job, and how good planetside 1 was or how much of a douchebag buzzcut is.
I like to have fun, crack jokes and talk shit, but there are limits to everything.

I know for a fact that there are plenty of people who do t want to be in TS because of all the things that I have mentioned above.

Those are my 2 cents and other than that, everything is peachy

I would have to agree. When I was a SL and someone asked for a new PL, I was the only one to step up. It annoyed me and I was on the verge of snapping around the 3rd time because there was at least 3 with the proper tags (PL or officer) to do the job and yet they would refuse to speak up. The only time I heard someone speak up was when they were asked by name, and to be honest it is quite saddening that someone has to have their name called to reply on doing their job.

About your TS feelings, I agree. When I lead a platoon, I don't mind when people talk about things off topic because I dont lead serious ops (I feel that is the job of the officers to do so). When things do get out of hand, I will tell the people to take it to the forums or another channel but I will never snap at people for talking during casual comms.

Just my 2 cents as well

Its gotten out of control, I harp on it constantly and it falls on deaf ears or I get back talk, Im tired of it guys, I dropped out of platoon tonight to go solo, while I was leading the platoon you all were so freaking bad tonight. I had people on 5 different points, and a bunch of chatter of utter bullshit, finally when you all crashed because you were not on the point (where I was in fact and DID NOT crash.. surprise, surprise) Its not worth leading you all. I love gaming with you all, and I don't mind the chatter to a certain extent, but jeese guys, extend other Platoon Leaders the same courtesy you guys extend to Jaamaw when he leads. Or lead yourselves and see just what its like...

    You realize I have access to the forums? You don't have to call me a douchebag ;-;

In all seriousness, this makes alot of sense. I know that I'm guilty of more than a few things on that list (Like the TS Chatter), and I love seeing constructive posts about the outfit.

I honestly that you were an officer, though, nrgaed lol. I see you lead platoons so much.

We should probably talk about this at the next meeting and let it all out. People shouldn't take it personally but yea we need to talk things out.

It would take quite a bit of time and Jaam would probably just tell us to make a forum post about it

Nraged, I love you, I think your one of the most valuable members in this outfit, but I have to disagree with you a little bit. Personally I actually enjoy TS banter during downtime (ie: waiting for a ghost cap, etc) even though I rarely speak. I'm not a SOE forum guy so I pick up a lot of good information from fellow team mates that way. Anytime we need to get serious we can always say "Clear Comms" and everyone will shut up instantly.

That said there is a limit to how much unnecessary stupid voices, sound effects and very annoying childish yapping that does go on for extended periods of time. Muting is not always a good option. Frankly I wonder if its just me who this really bothers at times and if others have simply logged because of it? Im not sure if we're talking about the same thing?

I agree with Nraged . I would go for PL but I don't have any of the experience that i feel you need. I would do it but I am scared of doing a bad job and not giving the right calls

I've done some PLing now. I was worried about f'ing up at first, and I f'd up sometimes. But I learned from them and am pretty comfortable doing it now. It's more about paying attention than anything. The map, pop, and where's a good fight, and when to leave one.
