niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Well deserved!

 

The result of last nights historical when you had to go Linch. Almost got 'em!!

When you left I was headed back for reps and ammo, I got them, headed out. Figured I would go straight to their base and just kill as many as I could on the way there. Stayed LOW. like <200 feet low. Flew under and avoided both A-20s. But their Corsair spotted me. He dove. I Climbed. Some shots were fired, they sounded like "YAK YAK YAK YAK YAK" needless to say, my Yak beat his Corsair ( ), so I pressed forward. My engine, elevators, and right wing were a bright flashing red. Everything else was fine. noticed the 2 A-20s doing work on the ground targets in the kill feed and kept an eye out for the beaufighter to see if he was out or landed. I finally reach the enemy airfield. I barely miss the Peak of the large mountain (flying low remember?!) and I notice him... starting his takeoff. Unfortunately the Yak-7b doesn't have an afterburn WEP mode so I just hoped to make it in time. The airfield alarms started sounding, flak whizzing past my plane, I begin rolling 20* back and forth to throw off the flak guns. At this point Maik notices me. Starts GUNNING his throttle so he isn't a sitting duck. He tries to go head to head, but he never faced in time. .3mi out I rail into him, machine guns and cannons ablaze. He goes down without a fight. Now I was thinking I did pretty well, I was really happy he never faced and I was alive. But then a very loud explosion and piercing sounds remind me that I am over their base getting shot by like 15 AA emplacements. I start breaking off, First my engine gets redder, then both wings. I catch on fire, but it is quickly doused. Then I peak a mountain and dive behind it. The flak stops. I start thinking "holy fucking hell" then I notice my engine is blinking very fast. About half way back to the combat zone I hear a cut and a stuttering. Engine black. However the engine is still working, no throttle loss. About 2-3 miles after the engine goes black I hear more stuttering and my headphones start to grow quiet. I set my plane down in a river, as I notice one of the A-20s crash into the ground.

Like I said. I almost got 'em! damn flak OP.
