Supermarine Spitfire Mk XII The five bladed, clipped wing Mk XII Spitfire was the first series to receive Griffon engines. By this time many Spitfires were equipped with universal wings which could be fitted with eight .303 machine guns, or two 20 mm canon and four .303 machine guns, or four 20 mm canons, or two 20 mm canons and two .50 machine guns. The universal wing also had mounting points for drop fuel tanks or small bombs
I had no idea the brit's had a 5-prop plane. But it definitely looks powerful. The idea of universal wings is also very interesting as well
