I've been thinking about what it might be like if we were to use infiltrators to go out ahead of the team, get into an enemy base before our platoon reaches it, and soften it up to be attacked. For instance, before we're done capturing base "A", we have 5 infiltrators leave and sneak into base "B" to lay in wait to do some damage from within.

If we had a small group of infiltrators who could sneak in, we could have some serious confusion JUST as our platoon hits the base.

As the platoon gets there, we as infiltrators who were laying in wait ahead of time, blow the generator just as the platoon arrives and can stroll right in?

Or just as our platoon rolls up the hill to the front of a base, the enemy within the base gets blasted from 4 of their own turrets?

Just a thought. It would take a lot of teamwork. Like any other class in the game, their usefulness is ramped up as there are more of them to support each other and I don't see infiltrator as being any different. We could hack terminals quickly and spawn tanks *in the enemy base* as a distraction, knock out a generator or light up the defenses with their own turrets.

Such a team of infiltrators would REQUIRE demolition certs and such. Spawn beacons would be great as well.

While the infiltrator class makes a fine sniper, I think we have yet to see what kind of enormous help some pre-strike base-softening could bring; it certainly seems efficient to have a generator blow just as the platoon wants to get in.

Maybe it WON'T be useful. Maybe I just have grand day dreams of a small squad of cloakers running in tandem. I'd like to find out though ;)

Spec ops teams more or less can play whatever class they like.

I had a great example of a spec ops team from TEST. They just flew round in a galaxyor scythes, getting back-caps, blowing gens in advance and placing sunderers. If they eneded help I'd give them a squad out of my own platoons to assist.

They did whatever needed to get the job done :) and were good at it.

That's excellent to hear. I'd like to push for such a squad/team in our Outfit. I really enjoy the Solid Snake type of sneaking around in an enemy base playstyle. I suppose having multiple classes would work just fine, but it sort of defeats the infiltrator's cloak to be around non-cloakers. There'd HAVE to be some splitting up.

    What!?

Get me in on that! Haha. What are the details? Who's in it? What's the class makeup? I want to know all about it! There's nothing I'd rather do than spec-ops.

I'm liking the idea of varied classes in the spec-ops team more and more.

Imagine an A-team of sorts. Medic, Heavy, Infiltrator, Engineer, all working together to go on small missions in the base. It'd be a blast AND helpful.
