While I've always had random crashes before, I dont think I was having them more than anyone else until recently.

In the last couple of days, my game is crashing me to a black screen where I can still hear TS but can't alt-tab or even bring up my Task Manager to close the game. I have to hold down my power button to kill the computer.

    Things I've tried:

Uninstall and reinstall the game through the game manager window
    Validate game assets
    Tested the memory
Ran the game on medium settings
GFX Physics are off (always greyed out)
    Updated the following:
    - Direct X
    - Video card driver
    - Windows Net and C+ C++ progs

Its a few months old very powerful computer, running Windows 7, AMD 5770, i7 3.5, 16gigs Ram, etc.

Is, or has, anyone else experienced this issue?

Also, for whatever reason, I cannot log into this website from any computer except an old computer at work running XP

really grasping at straws here but this sounds like more than a PS2 problem... video card issue?

have you tried to see if you get this to happen in any other game?

running in Fullscreen or fullscreen windowed?

    not much help, sorry.

Sounds almost like bad memory, try pulling 1 out at a time and running without it if it fixes the problem you nailed it.
Ive had it happen before, its a real pain in the ass

    Do you have anything overclocked?

I dont have any other games. I had this computer built specifically to run this game. I dont even have email on it and I watch porn on a dedicated Alienware porn computer ;P

Yes, its overclocked and then when I tried to set it back, the program I used to OC it went bad and I can't recall the name of the program. The program is gone. I forgot about that until you just mentioned it. TY

I ran the mem test through Windows and it came up fine but I was getting the Bluescreen and mem issues before and I did think it said something about memory.

Sounds like its time to get the guy I paid $300 to build it back in and test it. Before I do that, can anyone recommend an good hardware diagnostic programs?

    Thanks for you help.

I forgot to mention, maybe this is irrelevant but, before this the game was alwas crashing in the first few minutes of play. Once it got "warmed up" it hardly every crashed. That is until this latest "super crashing" in the last couple of days.

I had the same problem, your Video card and CPU are exchanging data at different rates and one is bottlenecking the other. I fixed my problem by OC-ing my video card using my driver software. MSI afterburner works very well too.

Well I tried to set my box back to factory specs and ended up having to take it in to the shop lol

Turns out its a bad stick of ram as someone mentioned above. So much for the Windows mem test program. That was causing my bluescreens.

And as Jaamaw said, my GPU wasn't talking properly to my overclocked CPU.

With a little bit of luck I will be on tonight with a STABLE computer.

    Thanks for your help guys.
