Well it was my GPU and a bad stick of memory. GPU had a bad capacitor and was whistling, ready to blow up the computer and start a fire.. Computer is only a couple of months old. I'm running now with a 5000 series radeon from my old computer and am averaging 20 frames. No more light assault until I get my card back. For now I'm going to stick to support classes and max

PS: The game hasn't crashed once since I swapped out my GPU

at least you found the problem(s). Hopefully no longer than you have had the card they are replacing it without any hassle?

They gave me an RMA (Return Materials Authorization) so I sure hope so. I sent it off on Monday. Very hard to play with 20frames. My only worry is that the card burning out, or whatever is wrong with it, has something to do with the over clocking.

I used the overclocking program that came with the Gigabyte mother board called Easytune 6 where you had 4 toggles to choose from from stock to, something like 4.9hrtz. Its an I7-3770 and runs at 3.5 with 3.9 turbo. I picked setting 2, the first stage, to see if it made any difference in my frames, 4.3 I think. Couldn't set it back to stock as the program went to crap. Lots on complaints about Easytune on the net. The card was $420 Radeon 7900 something or other. Hopefully I wont have to eat it.

Does your computer have any aftermarket cooling systems? If not, then overclocking would have overheated something in your PC, most likely.

Did you notice a change in temperature in the room your PC resides in?

In biolabs, I never get anything higher...
Isn't caused by my GPU though (GTX 560-Ti), my CPU sucks bigtime (also, DDR2 probably doesn't help)

Greyxen picked out the components from Newegg.

No I haven't noticed the room was getting hotter or the multitude of fans on the Coolermaster running harder. I recall counting 7 fans in the computer, a couple of them HUGE.

I feel bad for anyone running 20 frames on this game. Now that I've had a good taste of crisp play.

Vonic helped me optimize my settings at one point and that made a very significant increase. I suggest you contact him or someone else about toggling off and lowing certain settings, unparking your cores and that sort of stuff if you haven't already done so.

NOrrTH the overclocking probably didn't do it since modern chips will automatically shut themselves off if the temps get too high. You may have just got a bad bin and it happens once in a while. Intel will probably just ship you a new one.
